Clyw begins focusing hard, typing away on their Cyberdeck. Suddenly, sparks fly as the infected machine switches sides, into Clyw's control.
Clyw's nature as a sentient program allows them an intrinsic understanding of computer functions and what they can and can't do. While Clyw is not a malicious program by nature or at heart, they have the capabilities to be one. Any technological blockade will soon be sorted out in the flashiest manner possible.
Spend 2 Actions. Select a Computer within 20 feet. Does not work on Alien technology. You must actively and obviously use A Portable Computer to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Technology, with the Difficulty set by the GM depending on the security of the system you are hacking. Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you may issue a single command to the targeted system. This command must have a specific outcome or be a request for specific login credentials. The command you issue must be within the machine's current capabilities. For example, you cannot order a standard security camera to grow legs and walk around.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
The user taps their Bell, and upon doing so creates a yellow bubble-shaped barrier around the target that protects the target and everyone around it.
Spend an Action or Reaction to activate. Select a Animate target within arm's reach. Roll Dexterity + Athletics at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a Barrier extending out 15 feet from your target, which absorbs 2 times the next Outcome + 2 Damage. Only applies to attacks which originated outside the 15 foot radius, and protects anyone who is within that radius. Nothing can pass into the bubble until the barrier is broken. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
"Heads, or tails?" A simple 50/50 chance, yet getting it right instills one with the feeling that they are on a 'hot streak', that surely they can keep predicting the flow of luck and the face of the coin. Surely the unlikely will happen, and a big win is within reach only if one keeps gambling.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a number of Living targets equal to your Charisma within arm's reach. Roll Charisma + Thievery at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6 -3 dice.
If you succeed, for the next hour, affected targets will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by hubris. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
If you choose to use Chain of Screaming, your target interacts with any valid target, they must roll Self-Control or be swept up in the same emotion. New targets pass it on as well, and so on, with the remaining duration decreasing by half until the chain stops.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is fidgeting with a lucky charm. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
An illusion is cast somewhere nearby but where exactly no one knows. Is it actually happening or is it in your head?
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within 45 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless Can only work if no one knows its happening. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than a person.
The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place for the next minute or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through their hearing, smell, and sight. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You cannot make an exact replica of an existing Animate being or Object.
Anyone who touches the illusion (or who would be able to perceive it significantly through a sense it cannot fool) realizes it is an illusion, and the entire effect will be ended for all targets.
The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Begin doubting if it isnt in there head either.
You speak the activation phrase into the mirror. You see in the mirror a more whole version of yourself chained to the floor in a room mirroring the room you are in. You can talk to your mirror self about your traumas and bad memories, such that the mirror self knows fully the cause of the trauma.
Then, you must convince your mirror self to take the trauma in your place.
You can also act as an intermediary for others to use the mirror from a distance. The target must share the trauma's, their origin, and the details of it. As you get these details, you see the mirror forms an image of a more whole version of the person you are talking to. The room also reflects the area they received the trauma. The duplicate is dragged through the experience, by chained manacles which force them to enact the traumatizing event.
You then convince them to take the trauma for their corresponding mirrored self. You can talk to multiple people at the same time/ effect all targets with this.
If you succeed, you see them be affected immediately, taking on the physical condition of the contractor at the time they received the trauma, and the room shifts to be a reflection of the traumatic moment.
This Mirror was made by Vel by accident and can't be remade. Waking from a nightmare, Vel ran to the bathroom and vomited. They spent the rest of the night staring into the bathroom mirror, talking about what happened. At some point their power triggered, and the Mirror was given its ability.
The mirror effectively creates a temporary duplicate of the individuals targeted and drags that duplicate through experiencing the trauma. The duplicates know they are duplicates, but don't have any of the traumas the targeted individual has.
They then, at the end of this experience need to be convinced to go through the trauma once more, and in so doing remove it from the contractor being targeted. The duplicates have all their memories, care about their duplicate, and know they will cease to exist one way or another. They just need to be convinced to suffer more first.
Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Living target at any distance, provided you are able to communicate. Over the course of one day, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired. After the full treatment time has elapsed, roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6.
Your target may Resist. If your treatment is successful, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.
You may heal a Trauma on any number of targets with a single activation of this Effect, but any Traumas which you treat are revealed to the entire group.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see An alternate version of contractors being trapped in the mirror then having their traumas re-inflicted on them..
Part of the void's makeup consists of collective unconscious memories of those both living and dead. It is a dangerous place to travel and Void Travellers such as Athena require a method or focus to safely sift through it. In Athenas case, she has taken to using mirrors as the medium as to not threaten her immediate person.
However, occasionally, she oversteps her reach- to which the void demons and deities will tend to punish severely.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a Sapient target or a Creature within 20 feet. You may select a target at any range if you use up Blood of the target. You must actively and obviously use a reflective surface equal or greater to a mirror to activate this Effect. You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Science at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
The mad scientist produces thorium cores that can be used to upgrade tools and other devices. The core supercharges the item, increasing its quality and rendering it indestructible for a period. However, once the core runs dry, the object is rendered less useful than it was before. The core crackles with blue electricity while active.
Spend 1 Action and use up this glowing blue disk. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. Cannot be used to improve Armor.
Lasts the next two hours. Your target receives 2 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +2 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed.
After the Effect ends, any upgraded targets suffer a -2 dice penalty until they are either repaired or upgraded again.
Doc puts his hands on you and begins to mutter to himself in french. The effect is instant and horrible. You begin to remember all of the sins of your past, all the ways that you've wronged those who loved you. All of the terrible, evil things you've done on these contracts in order to survive. Doc seems to be in the grips of similar memories, tears running down his chin and dripping onto his hands that are pressed tightly against you. At the point where your mind feels like it's about to break, it's over. Just as quickly as it began. You feel your wounds begin to close.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. Your target must make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
While transformed, the Werewolf can leap great distances, climbing structures and closing the gap to their prey.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location which is at most 75 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically. This Effect cannot be used unless you are in werewolf form.
You jump to the chosen location. If the landing is precarious, the GM may call for a roll to land safely. You will never take fall damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
You may opt to trade your free movement for a Super Leap if you are jumping less than 50 feet or if you are closing a gap to an opponent and spend your Action on an attack.
The hacker is capable of crafting bottles of nanites. When poured on a broken object, the nanites go to work restoring it to a functioning state. The goop shimmers and crawls, sparking with blue electricity as it reforms broken parts.
Spend 10 Rounds and use up this a bottle of metallic fluid. Select a Object within arm's reach that is no larger than an SUV. Cannot be used on Alien technology. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target.
The musician assumes a powerful stance and strums a mighty power chord on their guitar. A blast of sound waves radiate outwards, destroying all who dare face the power chord directly.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use your instrument to activate this Effect. The area within 25 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total Damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 25 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 4. Armor is fully effective against this Damage. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full Damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
