Description

By spending countless hours in a library over several days, trying to make sense of the information given him as a "gift" for completing his last job, Kurt was able to find a way to imbue specific types of rings with demonic powers, using either a red or black gemstone placed in the ring as a conduit cut is now able to draw upon the powers of the underworld and summon forth blue hellfire to fell anyone opposing him. Drawing upon the demonic powers require a sacrifice however, a small drop of human blood. As Kurt prepares to fire, the gemstone on his ring begins to glow, while either of his palms split open, and a huge black maw with countless teeth is revealed, before a ball of blue fire comes forth striking his target.

Whenever not in possession of a fitting ring, the maws will refuse to open.

System

Spend an Action, Exert your Mind, choose a target within 300 feet, and roll Intellect + Occult Difficulty 6. The target may defend by rolling to dodge or Defend (as for an attack with a thrown weapon) as a Reaction.

Damage dealt equals the difference between your attack roll's Outcome and the defensive roll's (if one was made), plus 1.The target's Armor is Fully Effective.


Enhancements

  • Concealed (Using this Effect is not obvious. Choose a Tell that occurs only when you use the Effect; if-- and only if-- someone suspects that a Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.)
  • Cantrip (Activating this Effect has no Exertion cost, but it can have no more than 3 Drawbacks and its Gift Cost can never be increased above 2.)
  • Painful (The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.)
  • Shredder (If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.)

Drawbacks

  • Focus (Using this Effect requires a specific kind of item.)
    • Object - A ring with a black or red gemstone
  • Fuel (Using this Effect consumes some material good in addition to its other costs.)
    • Fuel Unit - Human blood
