Upon activation, the ring’s ruby begins to glow with a vibrant, deep red light. The flame engravings around the gem seem to come alive, flickering with golden sparks as if kindled by fire. A feint whisper into the users ears from Nicneven herself can be heard upon activation...
In the ancient days, Nicneven, the revered fairy goddess of the Scottish Highlands, sought to empower her chosen champions, the early members of the Lasair Nicneven with these magical rings to prove their attainment of knighthood. These were the warriors and mystics who dedicated their lives to protecting the land from dark forces and preserving the sacred traditions of the Highlands.
You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.
Any Injury you receive from a source other than Extremely Cold Attacks (Fire Physiology) heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level every 6 hours. Any Injuries you receive while this Effect is active do not deteriorate over time. However, any Battle Scars caused by such an Injury will remain unless it is Properly Stabilized as normal.
You may Exert your Mind and spend a Quick Action to reduce the Severity of one of your Injuries by 4. Does not affect Injuries suffered as an activation cost for Effects.
All Injuries you receive are considered Properly Stabilized. You may also choose to heal any Battle Scar on yourself that may not have been caused by an Injury. Doing so takes one day, and the Battle Scar affects you fully until that time.
Injuries you receive from Extremely Cold Attacks (Fire Physiology) are increased in Severity by 1.
Summoned by the call of their master from the depths of hell, these demons are covered head to toe in red skin. They feature black horns and fire in place of hair. They're always eager to play back up to their master.
Their sharp claws are always ready to draw blood, and if a target is out of reach, they can summon fireballs to throw at their enemies, or take to the sky and pull down their for.
This Effect activates whenever Someone Answers in the affirmative to the question, "Are you ready to rock?" or The wielder takes a severity 1 injury or higher from an attack.. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event.
Summon up to 3 Sapient Rock-'n'-roll Succubus at your location. They last for two hours or until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. This Artifact may have at most 3 minions active at a time.
When encountered by the might of this sword, any being capable of feeling emotion will feel riled up by a sense of comradery towards a common goal: liberation.
Spend an Action. Select a number of Living targets equal to your Charisma within 45 feet. Roll Charisma + Culture at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, for the next hour, affected targets will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by comradery. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Long Rifle weapon of black, blue and yellow colors, resembling the weapon of the Abnormality. It's blue tracers only reveal the beings it has tore through.
This Artifact can be used as a rifle. It is roughly the same size as a rifle and just as difficult to conceal. Unless MATCHING SUIT IS WORN, BOOSTING THE WEAPON'S BONUS DAMAGE TO 4 INSTEAD OF 2, this Artifact behaves as its mundane counterpart.
Attack by rolling Dexterity + Firearms, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +7 Weapon Damage.
Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their mind and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Trauma: "The 7th Bullet has your name written on it". If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next day.
You also gain the following effects:
Blossoms of ink-in-water apparate about the target, before being absorbed. Occasional flashes of colored electricity pass through the cloud of ink before its absorption.
The target experiences a rapid decay: change in color, shift in texture, and loss of material integrity.
Understanding the structure of matter and deconstructing it.
Drawing from a deep understanding of material composition, organic and non-organic, and a focused intent to force alteration, the target is pulled apart and transformed on a fundamental, molecular -even atomic- level, as though experiencing accelerated entropy.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 45 feet. Roll Intellect + Science Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Instead of dealing Damage all at once, the Injury caused by this Power starts at Severity 1 and worsens at the rate of one level per Round until it reaches the Severity it would have otherwise been.
With the Connection Hal has to his bike now, it has transcended into a spiritual level now to where the thing can never be broken and will always tell Hal where to find her, nothing can break their bond.
This Artifact cannot be broken.
This Artifact's creator is always aware of the direction and distance to this Artifact.
"The Coffin" can only be used to store things commonly found in coffins, such as bodies, clothes, jewelry, photos, weapons, coins, and similar.
This Artifact can be used as a container. It is roughly the same size as a alligator-skin briefcase and just as difficult to conceal. Unless you are storing something commonly found in coffins, this Artifact behaves as its mundane counterpart.
Your alligator-skin briefcase holds 5 times what it normally could. Objects stored inside are weightless.
Living things can be stored in your alligator-skin briefcase. They will have access to anything else inside and may attempt to break free, damaging or destroying the alligator-skin briefcase in the process.
If your alligator-skin briefcase is destroyed, things inside may get out, and it will cease to function until it is repaired.
You may change the type of your container between Contracts.
Only you may open and close the container. Others can still destroy it to get at the contents
The spy can do up their passport to take on the appearance of any valid form of identification they may need.
This Artifact can change its appearance. When not transformed, it is roughly the same size as a passport and just as difficult to conceal.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. This Artifact changes its appearance into an Object within the category of forms of identification. This lasts until you decide to end the Effect, which may be done as a Free Action.
The new object's appearance can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), but must be of a similar size and weight to this Artifact.
The new appearance is illusory; it will hold up to scrutiny, but its composition is not altered and it gains no new functionality. Any attempt to use it for a function which it cannot perform (for instance, making bread look like a knife and then trying to stab someone) will cause the illusion to fail or allow a Perception check to see through the illusion, at the GM's discretion.
The "Reaper" Assault Helmet is the signature piece of the Future Soldier's arsenal. It has a sleek, design and is made of a mysterious matte-metallic alloy. The wearer's face is exposed normally, but when a battle begins, a blue holographic visor flickers to life in front of the eyes. This HUD contains information about the soldier's ammunition and shield status, but more significantly can detect enemy combatants. Anyone nearby who is holding a weapon is painted with a red dot that follows them in real time. This allows the Future Soldier to fire at painted targets in the dark, detect ambushes lurking around corners, and grants an overall tactical advantage.
This Effect activates whenever combat begins. It does not require an Action or Exertion.
You automatically detect all people wielding weapons within 300 feet of you for the next hour. This includes any who come within range during the duration. You have a sense of how many valid targets are nearby, as well as their distance and direction.
Dazzle Glasses are advanced "black-tech" espionage gear. They can be styled as any sort sunglasses. When the wearer is recorded, they will quickly flash a non-visible laser into the recording device, destroying it after only a moment of footage is taken.
This Effect activates whenever you are recorded. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Non-Sapient Object within 20 feet no larger than a duffel bag (35 liters). Roll Perception + Culture Difficulty 6.
If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.
The spy can do up their passport to appear as any valid form of identification.
This Artifact can change its appearance. When not transformed, it is roughly the same size as a passport and just as difficult to conceal.
Whenever you show this Artifact to someone, you may give a general description of an Object within the category of forms of identification, and anyone who hears the description and sees the Artifact will have their mind fill in the details to complete the illusion.
The way the Artifact is seen can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), but must be of a similar size and weight to this Artifact.
