An dense cloud of smoke that rapidly envelops the area in which this pellet has been thrown. The thick fog lingers for five minutes, completely blocking vision from inside and outside the radius.
Spend an Action and use up this pellet. Select a Location within 60 feet of you.
You create a hemispherical dome of smoke originating at the chosen Location, with a radius of 60 feet, and lasting for 5 minutes. The area inside your zone is affected in the following ways:
Edgar stores this vile fluid in his throat, which is naturally produced by his body. Those exposed risk degenerative madness, typically involving hallucinations of the dead (see ghosts, dead people call them on the phone) or experience parasitism (maggots or other insects crawling under their skin). The only cure is to eat at least a pound of cadaver flesh, a corpse at least 24 hours old. If confronted with such a corpse they are likely to have an episode, believing it smells (& tastes) like the most delicious food they've ever imagined...at least, until they finish eating it.
Use up this transparent ichor and spend an Action to trap a region of any shape that contains your current location and fits entirely within arm's reach. This trap lasts until triggered or disarmed. Roll 11 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply. Choose one of the following symptoms:
The trap looks like a sticky fluid coating a surface. Only those who have seen this trap before can identify it as a trap. Anyone who is aware of the trap may intuitively avoid, trigger, or destroy it.
Any Living target that enters the chosen region will trigger the trap. Your target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 7.
When the trap is triggered, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes the chosen symptoms. Symptoms begin to appear immediately, and will remain and continue to worsen until the affliction is cured. The affliction is contagious and will spread to new targets. Anyone who comes into direct contact an afflicted individual of the same species must roll Body, Difficulty 8. If they fail, they become afflicted. Otherwise, they are immune to the spread.
The affliction is not treatable by modern medicine. It may be diagnosed by rolling Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 9, and can be cured by consuming at least a pound of flesh from a cadaver more than 24 hours old. Gifts or supernatural Effects and Powers which would cure or prevent this affliction do not cure or prevent it, but instead offer a clear diagnosis and provide information regarding the method of treatment without requiring a diagnosis roll.
The Ninja always prepares a few smoke bombs ahead of time to get out of sticky situations. They can fill a room with smoke in an instant and last long enough for the Ninja to make an escape or find an opening for attack.
Spend an Action and use up this charcoal.
You create a hemispherical dome of smoke originating at your Location, with a radius of 20 feet. and lasting for 5 minutes. The area inside your zone is affected in the following ways:
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
A small piece of paper with the cult's ritualistic circle drawn on it. Upon use a black tentacle lashes out violently, when it touches walls or other objects it turns soft, and does not damage them, when it hits people the limb turns hard, it can cut their skin like a blade or knock them backwards with brute force, after it strikes the tentacle like a measuring tape goes back into the paper then the paper burns up
Spend an Action and use up this a small piece of paper with a ritualistic circle on it. Select a Living target within 45 feet. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.
If the target receives an Injury, they are knocked back 5 * Severity feet.
If the target suffers an Injury from this Effect, they will receive at least a Minor Battle Scar regardless of its Severity. When this Effect causes a Battle Scar, you may select which one of the appropriate level.
After a nice long smoke... you too: burn up and dissolve into smoke!
... Most of the time, atleast.
Sometimes this shit doesn't even work: call it improper packing.
Sometimes... its cut bad, other times... it has seriously adverse health effects but hey
Thats the cost of a good smoke.
Use up this Cigarette (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7) and spend one minute. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot attempt to use it again for an hour.
You transform into Smoke for the next hour. You may end the effect early and return to your normal form at will. Your structure must remain relatively contiguous. It is not necessarily obvious that your transformed state is an unusual phenomena or that it is acting with singular purpose.
While in this form, you can squeeze through any gap that is not air-tight, though this may take more than one Action at GMs discretion. You may fly at your standard movement speed.
Damage from standard attacks is halved, but Damage from AOE effects is increased by 1. You may suffer Damage from wind and powerful gusts at GM’s discretion. You may spend an Action to reduce one of your Injuries’ Severity by 2, as long as you obtained the Injury while transformed and the separated pieces could reasonably be rejoined.
You cannot communicate, use equipment, or use Gifts while transformed. Your equipment does not transform with you beyond basic body coverings. You cannot carry any items while transformed.
While transformed, you can make an unarmed attack using Body as your attack roll. The target may contest by dodging or Defending. This attack deals +2 damage.
After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.
When you activate this Effect, roll a single D10. if the result is 5 or lower, you receive a Severity-1 Injury and a Minor Battle Scar.
Drop the tooth into your mark's pocket, purse, cleavage, or butt crack...anywhere a tooth will fit! Bump and run or a surreptitious drop work well. If you are feeling fancy, you can toss it, too!
Spend an Action and use up this wolf's tooth. Make a thrown attack at a target within normal attack range. Roll your for your attack as normal. The target may roll to dodge or defend, as normal for thrown attacks. The attack may or may not deal Damage as per a normal attack, at the user's choice.
Your target is marked with wolf fang until it is removed or until you choose to end the Effect. Your mark can be discovered if the target is inspected visually. Removal inflicts a Severity 1 Injury on the target.
You are aware of the marked target's vital status, injuries, direction and distance from you. You can have up to 3 marks active.
After consuming the tainted food or drink, the target transforms into a llama!
Use up this vial of extract of llama and spend an Action to turn food or drink into a trap. This trap lasts until triggered or disarmed. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
The trap looks like food or drink. Only those who have seen this trap before can identify it as a trap. Anyone who is aware of the trap may intuitively avoid, trigger, or destroy it.
Any Living target within within arm's reach that uses the trap as food or drink will trigger it. The target may roll Body, -2 dice at Difficulty 7, as a Free Action to resist.
If you succeed, the target receives two new Battle Scars of your choosing, limited by the contested Outcome:
If you inflict two Extreme (Outcome > 3) Battle Scars on the target, you may transform them fully into another species.
All alterations you make must turn the target into a llama.
The Battle Scars you inflict manifest over the course of the next minute.
The mad scientist produces thorium cores that can be used to upgrade tools and other devices. The core supercharges the item, increasing its quality and rendering it indestructible for a period. However, once the core runs dry, the object is rendered less useful than it was before. The core crackles with blue electricity while active.
Spend 1 Action and use up this glowing blue disk. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. Cannot be used to improve Armor.
Lasts the next two hours. Your target receives 2 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +2 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed.
After the Effect ends, any upgraded targets suffer a -2 dice penalty until they are either repaired or upgraded again.
The Future Soldier learned to create foam grenades in their own time period, and they still can, kinda. They look like glowing orange capsules with a rugged rubberized grip. When thrown, they burst into a splash of expanding neon orange foam. The foam hardens in seconds, severely hampering the movement of anyone unlucky enough to have been splashed. Those affected may use their hands or weapons to hack away at the foam and free themselves.
Occasionally, the fuses on these bootleg grenades fails, and they go off immediately.
Spend an Action and use up this small metallic grenade with pin (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Make a thrown attack at a Location within normal attack range. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you are hit as it activates immediately at your present location. The target may roll to dodge or defend, as normal for thrown attacks. The attack does not deal Damage, but the Effect does.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but are reduced to ¼ of their movement speed.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
The hacker is capable of crafting bottles of nanites. When poured on a broken object, the nanites go to work restoring it to a functioning state. The goop shimmers and crawls, sparking with blue electricity as it reforms broken parts.
Spend 10 Rounds and use up this a bottle of metallic fluid. Select a Object within arm's reach that is no larger than an SUV. Cannot be used on Alien technology. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.
If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target.
The mutant now occasionally lays large, orange-speckled eggs. These Eggs do not hatch nor spoil. If cracked and applied to a chronic injury such as a missing limb, the scar heals completely within the hour. However, any area healed by the egg will forever carry an inhuman appearance as testament to the bizarre method of treatment.
Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.
