The object animates by verbally crafting lines from a story about what the object is destined to do when animated. As if the narrator in a book utilizes exposition to predicate the actions of a given object.
This power is caused by an influx of meta particles that impart a desire to exist on an inanimate object. Only those that speak with absolute confidence and in the correct tonal cadence in the moment of choosing can impart such a desire. This is known as "Causal Diction". Causal, meaning "involving causation or a cause : marked by cause and effect" and Diction, meaning "a choice of words especially with regard to correctness, clearness, or effectiveness". Sometimes, to those who have merely witnessed this phenomenon, it is referred to as "The Voice of All Things". Since it appears as though the user audibly commands life into that which does not possess it. Allowing objects to move and act freely, and thus, granting them a "voice" of their own.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Inanimate target within 20 feet which could fit inside a briefcase (15 liters).
Your target will become Animated for three hours. You may choose to end the effect at will, as a Free Action. You can maintain a max of 4 targets animated at once.
Animated Objects have the following restrictions and capabilities:
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Audible Muttering. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Tinnitus and Weak Stomach.
The Neanderthal starts stretching before leaping into the air. It's not that crazy.
Spend an Action. Select a Location which is at most 75 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically.
You jump to the chosen location. If the landing is precarious, the GM may call for a roll to land safely. You will never take fall damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
You may opt to trade your free movement for a Super Leap if you are jumping less than 50 feet or if you are closing a gap to an opponent and spend your Action on an attack.
You may activate this Effect while in free-fall, as long as your target Location is a surface on which you can land. You are immune to fall damage.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Alpha Human - Even in the modern day, you can't escape your confrontational nature. (Whenever you would be challenged physically, roll Self-Control or be forced to defeat or otherwise impose your dominance upon your challenger) and Fire Bad! - You still can't quite wrap your head around this dangerous phenomena! (Whenever you would encounter fire, roll Self-Control or be forced to run away from the source of your fear).
Exerting herself in order to rapidly string the wires up in a split-second, Kayleigh performs a flip in place, landing on a near-invisible fishing line before being launched upwards into the air.
An ability created through total mastery of the Yokai Wire. Typically the Yokai Wire requires previous installation and can only so much as support the weight of the user without snapping. This ability overcomes those limitations and allows the user to use it to freely jump about as they please without even needing to use the item, so long as they have it on their person.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location which is at most 75 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically. You must actively and obviously use a Yokai Wire to activate this Effect.
You jump to the chosen location. If the landing is precarious, the GM may call for a roll to land safely. You will never take fall damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.

A little black dome with a sticky underside. In this day and age, it looks like any other monitoring camera that public transport or government services would use, but it can show its user so much more.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 10 feet. You must remain within 1000 feet of your ward to access its senses.
You place a ward,. You can hear and see through the ward as though you were standing at its location. You may have at most 3 wards active at once.
The ward requires Concentration to monitor, though it will remain active until you deactivate it. The ward can be discovered if someone knows what they are looking for, but is otherwise inconspicuous and cannot be identified as a ward.
The Priest sets on a pilgrimage. Packed with food and water to taste the journey. He sets off down the trodden road at a blistering pace. Leaving nothing but footsteps to his salvation.
Exert your Mind (unless your current location, or target location is within 1 mile of a church) and spend 1 minute. Select a Location within your line of sight. You must use up a days worth of food and water in order to activate this Effect.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. Anyone who is touching you as you Travel will be brought along with you. You must wait an hour before activating this effect again.
If you traverse any Trails or Backroads for one minute, you may activate this Effect and travel to the edge of any other Trails or Backroads that you’re aware of, regardless of range.
When you Travel, you leave a trail of footsteps leading too and from locations as a distinct trail between your starting and end points.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.
Dr. Freeman engages in an invasive regimen of humor-balancing. Sometimes this means forcing his patient to consume vile mixtures of herbs and minerals, other times, using drugs to induce violent fits of vomiting. No matter the rest of the treatment, he always performs bloodletting, opening a vein to drain a significant amount of blood. The fluids drained this way are streaked with sickening tracks of diseased green and yellow bile.
As awful and disgusting as the procedure is, one cannot argue with the results. The treated patient stumbles away cleansed of any diagnosed diseases, poisons, and venoms.
Spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Your target takes a Severity 1 Injury. Your target must make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.
You may cure any Non-Alien diseases, toxins, or poisons afflicting your target even if you have not diagnosed or fully understood it. You may cure diseases or poisons even if they are not treatable through modern medicine. During treatment, the malady you are treating does not progress or cause additional Damage or other effects.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Through the use of clever rhetoric, the spy is able to inspire a surge of emotion in a target with whom they are speaking.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. This Effect cannot be used unless you are engaged in conversation with the target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6 -3 dice.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
By slowing the hands of one of their watches, the time-traveler may interrupt and slow a target's movement through time. The target appears to be moving in slow motion for the duration.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use a watch or clock to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Science at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the target will suffer a dice penalty equal to the Outcome for the next 2 Rounds. Dice pools may be reduced all the way down to 0 by this penalty. This breaks Concentration.
You may activate this Effect as a Reaction to contest any Action a valid target is taking, reducing their Outcome by your own. Your command has no impact beyond disrupting their Action.
The spy can twist the urban environment to their whims, erecting fences, walls, and barriers as needed. They whistle and gesture to where the wall should be, and the surrounding materials fly into place.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 50 feet. You must be in an area abundant with man-made structures and materials.
Select one of the following alterations to create out of standard building materials originating at the target:
The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.
This alteration lasts one minute but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 6 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.
Doc puts his hands on you and begins to mutter to himself in french. The effect is instant and horrible. You begin to remember all of the sins of your past, all the ways that you've wronged those who loved you. All of the terrible, evil things you've done on these contracts in order to survive. Doc seems to be in the grips of similar memories, tears running down his chin and dripping onto his hands that are pressed tightly against you. At the point where your mind feels like it's about to break, it's over. Just as quickly as it began. You feel your wounds begin to close.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma. Your target must make a Trauma roll to reap the benefits of this Effect. They may choose to Resist the Effect and not make the roll. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
The mystic can meld their aura with another, allowing them to superimpose their being, physical and mental, into a target. Observers witness the mystic fading and entering their target's body as wisps of smoke, leaving no trace of their own body behind.
While inside, they can control their target's actions. Affected targets have no memory of the experience.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend an Action. Select a Living or Sapient target within arm's reach. Roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you possess your target for the Contested Outcome in minutes. The target has no control over their body or actions, and they are functionally unconscious through the entire possession, retaining no memory other than any Traumas they might obtain.
You do not leave your original body behind when you possess a target. When a possession ends, your original body will reappear at the host body’s same location. You may spend an Action to end the possession early.
Stats: During the possession, you use the host body’s Body rating, but your own Mind rating. Any rolls you make use the host body’s Brawn, Dexterity, and Perception but your own Charisma, Intellect, and Abilities. You gain the effects of any physical Assets and Liabilities they have. You cannot read the target’s mind or memories.
Gifts: You have access to and can use any of your own Powers which are intrinsic to your biology or physical body. You cannot access any Powers or other supernatural effects which the target has, unless they are intrinsic to the target’s biology or physical body.
Death: If the host body is killed or destroyed while you are still possessing it, you will die along with it.
Eviction: If you attempt to force your host to take actions which would violate one of their Limits or their instinct for self-preservation, they may resist by rolling Mind. If their Outcome is higher than or equal to the contested Outcome, the possession ends and you are evicted from their body.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
