When in the throes of a Mutation episode, Edgar will occasionally burst, erupting as nightmare made flesh: injuries inflicted by this event tend to be burns from flaming ichor, lashing from barbed tendrils, or the bites of the maddened dead that he has previously consumed. This event can go on for the duration of the Mutation episode, though is generally short-lived, with the various pseudopods expending their energy quickly before crawling off to die.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. This Effect cannot be used unless Final Form is active and Alternate Form is active. The area within 10 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Brawn + Melee at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total Damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 10 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 2. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full Damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.
For the next 3 Rounds following the initial blast, this Effect will deal a new blast of damage to any targets remaining within range of you. The damage decays by 2 each Round.
Any flammable Objects within the radius during the blast will catch fire, and any being who takes at least 4 Damage will catch fire. Starting the Round after they caught fire, flaming targets take 2 Damage per Round until the fire is extinguished.
If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Edgar's skin split like a rotten fruit, erupting with lashing tendrils, flaming ichor, & the screaming faces of the dead.
it's a deer cracker
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location no further than 25 feet from you and in your line of sight. The area within 10 feet of the chosen Location immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. On the following Rounds, you may choose to detonate the Blast as a Free Action on your initiative. When you do so-- or when one minute elapses-- roll Brawn + Athletics at Difficulty 6.
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 10 feet of the chosen Location with Damage equal to your Outcome + 4.
The user points their finger, and a beautiful line of dancing lights, closely resembling the Northern Lights, pours out from it. The beam elegantly bends and shimmers as it flies through the air in a primarily straight line. If the beam connects with a target, the aurora circles around them, swiping past them as it deals damage slowly over a period time (As a result of Slow). If the beam should fail to connect with a target, the lights will rapidly dim before disappearing into nothingness (this disappearance also occurs once the damage over time brought about by Slow finishes). The beam's colouration is typically green or purple, though it can occasionally manifest itself in orange, red, blue, and any other colours that the actual Aurora Borealis can appear as.
Andromeda's signature ability. She discovered it shortly after taking up residence in her observatory. She has been absolutely obsessed with it after discovering that this was something she could do. She's spent many nights just shooting it into the distance, watching the lights flicker into the night sky before fading away. She personally chooses to believe that this gift means that she is destined to be a hero, akin to Percy Jackson and other similar protagonists from young adult novels.
Andromeda's acquisition of this gift increased her already rebellious tendencies. While she was never one for listening to authority, she now believes that her power places her in a position where other people don't have the right to boss her around. She's also anxious about having her powers stolen, taken advantage of, or otherwise used by others for their own personal gain. All of this (plus some past experiences) combines to make Andromeda a child who would rather do anything other than follow an order.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 50 feet. Roll Perception + Occult Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Rebellious - You have trouble with trusting authority figures. (Whenever anyone in an authority position, such as police, local leaders, etc. tries to assert their authority to tell you to do something, roll Self Control to prevent doing the opposite of what they tell you to do.).
Instead of dealing Damage all at once, the Injury caused by this Power starts at Severity 1 and worsens at the rate of one level per Round until it reaches the Severity it would have otherwise been.
a user, perhaps inspired by the lore of the leprechaun, holds a shillelagh, a traditional Irish wooden walking stick. With a sense of wonder and anticipation, they mimic the actions of the mythical leprechaun and tap the shillelagh on the ground. The moment the stick contacts the surface, something extraordinary happens.
The ground beneath their feet begins to shimmer and swirl, opening up to reveal a glowing portal. It’s as if the tap of the shillelagh has unlocked a hidden, mystical doorway. The user, filled with a mix of excitement and a hint of apprehension, finds themselves suddenly dropping through this portal.
As they fall, the world around them transforms. Colors and lights blend in a kaleidoscope of hues, creating an ethereal tunnel around them. The sensation is otherworldly, as if they’re traveling through a conduit of magic and ancient energy.
Suddenly, the journey comes to an end as they emerge from a hole in the ground in a completely different environment.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Location within your line of sight.
You are transported directly to the chosen Location. Anyone who is touching you as you Travel will be brought along with you. You must wait an hour before activating this effect again.
If you traverse any Hills and Mounds for one minute, you may activate this Effect and travel to the edge of any other Hills and Mounds that you’re aware of, regardless of range.
A miniature symbol of a golden dart frog is placed in the desired area. To access the ward Victor must look at his pocket watch.
Spend an Action. Select a Location within 10 feet. You must actively and obviously use Pocket Watch to activate this Effect. You must remain within 1000 feet of your ward to access its senses.
You place a ward, which is fixed to its initial location. You can hear and see through the ward as though you were standing at its location. You may have at most 3 wards active at once.
The ward requires Concentration to monitor, though it will remain active until you deactivate it. The ward can be discovered if someone knows what they are looking for, but is otherwise inconspicuous and cannot be identified as a ward.
Your Ward records all activity it observes, regardless of whether or not you are actively monitoring it. This recording can be played back and referenced later.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Spirits used to take over, but now it’s only life itself as plants roses producing toxic gas from vines, creeping up walls and taking over places Vines hanging from the ceiling thorns starting to grow on the ground and the gas is a thick red, which is hard to see through and it is poisonous
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. Select a Location within 60 feet of you.
You create a hemispherical dome of roses producing toxic, gas, and vines hanging low from the field originating at the chosen Location, with a radius of 60 feet, and lasting for 5 minutes. The area inside your zone is affected in any number of the following ways:
The Psychic can speak directly into someone's mind, engaging in an entirely telepathic conversation. While they do, they take on a blank, vacant stare in the direction of their target, and appear to be muttering gibberish to themselves under their breath.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location. This Effect cannot be used unless you can see your target.
You open up a line of communication to your target, and may converse with them as long as one of you maintains Concentration
The conversation will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.
The Necromancer may exert their will on any undead creature, forcing it to act as they desire. The Necromancer's eyes turn completely black, and they speak a command to the creature in the language of the dead.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a non-Sapient, Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is undead.
For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow.
Your commands must be relatively simple and within the target’s intellectual grasp. You cannot make them obviously endanger themselves or violate their instinct for self-preservation. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.
Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
The doctor heals severe injuries in minutes using only standard medical supplies. Lacerations seal under the needle and thread, and reset bones can be used shortly after.
However, for the treatment to last, the patient must adhere to any aftercare regimen the doctor requires. Those who violate the doctor's orders suffer their injuries anew.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use basic medical supplies to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition.
While transformed, the Werewolf can leap great distances, climbing structures and closing the gap to their prey.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location which is at most 75 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically. This Effect cannot be used unless you are in werewolf form.
You jump to the chosen location. If the landing is precarious, the GM may call for a roll to land safely. You will never take fall damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
You may opt to trade your free movement for a Super Leap if you are jumping less than 50 feet or if you are closing a gap to an opponent and spend your Action on an attack.
The mutant now occasionally lays large, orange-speckled eggs. These Eggs do not hatch nor spoil. If cracked and applied to a chronic injury such as a missing limb, the scar heals completely within the hour. However, any area healed by the egg will forever carry an inhuman appearance as testament to the bizarre method of treatment.
Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.
