Years in the lab have honed your analytical skills! With a sample of blood or close proximity to your subject, you can seemingly write down all sorts of information about the target by running all sorts of peculiar tests with gadgets that seemingly materialize out of nowhere into your hands.
Spend a minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. You may select a target at any range if you use up a Blood Sample (either fresh or dry) of the target. You must actively and obviously use a notebook and pen/pencil to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
This Effect is obviously Alien and eye-catching across its range to those witnessing it, and you are obviously the source.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
In addition to physical harm, the protection spell now messes with a target's mind, causing their mind to boil and buckle under ungodly psychic pressure. Their eyes alight, blood vessels turning to red steam and leaking from nose and head. If killed from this effect, their head explodes.
This Effect activates whenever Cassidy is touched aggressively, for example a melee attack, unarmed attack or attempted grapple. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Sapient or Creature target within arm's reach. “Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma. Roll Brawn + Melee Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target loses that much Source. Once their Source is depleted, excess Outcome is applied as Mind Damage. If you deal at least 3 Mind damage, the target gains a Trauma of the GM's choice.
This Trauma may be removed by Effects or mundane therapy, as normal. Affected targets are aware that they are being attacked and can generally tell who did it.
It’s eyes dilate as long tubes of flesh covered in tiny hairs protrude out of its arms and legs. It smells the terror brought about by its hunt, and they cannot escape its looming grasp.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
You automatically detect all Stressed Creatures within 300 feet of you for the next hour. This includes any who come within range during the duration. You have a sense of how many valid targets are nearby, as well as their distance and direction.
Any Stressed Creatures detected while the effect is active are “marked”. You will continue to detect them until the effect ends, no matter how far away they move. You will also continue to detect them after the effect ends, so long as they remain within 300 feet of you.
You receive the scent for each being you detect.
All Stressed Creatures who you can sense are equally able to sense you.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see sphincters opening up on Wei’s arms as long, puffy scent organs pulse outwards.

Any senses which have been heightened cannot be overloaded. Battle Scars you receive cannot affect these senses.
Doors and other closable objects identify you as a main character of the story and provide plot convenience when near. You verbally weave a portend to entice the need for the object to lock or unlock and open.
While not quite animating an object, unlocking a door requires a will of the doors own. Crafting that will and projecting it onto the door means a micro usage of Causal Diction must be used (refer to "Living Story"). This concise impartation of will and beliefs that infer a crucial event will occur and/or unless the door locks or unlocks in favor of the Storyteller. The same technique also conveniently extends to anything that functions like a door.
Spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien door, container, knot, or lock within arm's reach that is no more complex than a standard commercial door, personal safe or a keycard reader.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Audible Muttering. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
The Thief has a stash in which they can store a few objects. It can be accessed through any burlap sack.
Spend a Quick Action. You must actively and obviously use a burlap sack to activate this Effect.
You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within arm’s reach to your stash. You may only stash targets which are in your possession, grappled, or otherwise controlled by you.
You may store Objects in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside a briefcase (15 liters), and you may store up to 3 things at a time.
You may choose to equip any equipment you withdraw at no additional cost.
The Witch wiggles her fingers at her broomstick, and it leaps from the ground with a whoosh of wind. She may then hop on and fly around. It’s so fun, she often finds herself cackling uncontrollably.
Flight is brief but quick, and she must return to the ground in one minute.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use a broom to activate this Effect. This Effect remains active for two hours.
As long as you are conscious, you are immune to falling Damage. Additionally, you may glide as you fall, traveling 35 feet horizontally for every 10 feet you fall. While gliding, you fall at a minimum speed of 10 feet per Round.
You may ascend into the air and fly using your mind. Your Free Movement is Mind x5 feet/Round, including vertically. You cannot Dash. When sprinting, roll Mind and add your rating in Mind plus 1 to the outcome, multiply by 5 to find your sprint speed. Your encumbrance limit is 10 lbs per point of Mind.
You are subject to the following effects while gliding or flying:
The Psychic can, with great focus and mental strain, channel their will to move objects with their mind.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You can interact with things that are within 75 feet without needing to physically touch them or be near them. Any rolls made for Actions taken in this way use a Mental Strength of 2 in place of your Brawn rating, a Mental Agility of 2 in place of your Dexterity, and otherwise use your own Attributes and Abilities.
Telekinetic actions have the following restrictions and behaviors:
Driving rugged vehicles in a combat situation is second nature to the Soldier. They measure their shots and navigate obstacles with a subtle timing that doesn't affect the steadiness of their own or their passengers' weapons. Firing a few shots through the windshield or window while performing dangerous driving maneuvers is also no problem.
You gain the following benefits as long as Must be driving a rugged vehicle such as an SUV truck or armored car. and you are piloting any vehicle.
You receive +2 dice to any rolls to pilot a vehicle.
You also gain the following effects:
The musician assumes a powerful stance and strums a mighty power chord on their guitar. A blast of sound waves radiate outwards, destroying all who dare face the power chord directly.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use your instrument to activate this Effect. The area within 25 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total Damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 25 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 4. Armor is fully effective against this Damage. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full Damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
