The power to temporarily transform into an animated superhero.
Used by Alan Hawkins, Created by Monday.
(This Effect is obviously Alien when used. While you are an animated superhero, you are obviously transformed and unusual. )

Invoking his oath, Alan undergoes a flashy transformation sequence to become the superhero, Paragon. In this form, Alan's body is completely replaced by the Paragon's signature costume, a suit of white armor with a billowing blue cape and emblem of peace emblazoned on their chest. They appear like an fictional character brought to life, moving as if animated between frames and possessing pure white eyes that change size with their expression.

Exert your Mind (unless you are in a major metropolitan area) and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: flashy transformation sequence. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You transform into an animated superhero for 3 hours. You have access to all of your Powers while you are an animated superhero, and you can use your equipment. The Injuries and Battle Scars of your Alternate Form and your true form are tracked separately.

While transformed, your Charisma is increased by 2. You do not suffer any Stress while transformed.

While transformed, instead of your normal clothes and equipment, you are equipped with: Paragon Superhero Gear

Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Zero To Hero: Your physical prowess only functions within the body of your superhero identity. When you are outside of your Alternate Form, your Strength and Dexterity attributes are set to a 1.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: With Great Responsibility: You are compelled to follow your morals. Whenever you are faced with the opportunity to save a life or enact justice, you must succeed a Self-Control roll to resist the urge and Main Character Syndrome: You're the protagonist of the story, destined to save all the side characters you are superior to. You must succeed a Self-Control roll in order to believe something or take an action which contradicts this delusion.

  • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

No change for rework

Use up this stainless steel shield charm and spend an Action. Roll 7 dice Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.

If you succeed, you create a barrier around yourself, which absorbs the next Outcome + 4 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.

The barrier will fall after two hours, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage.

This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is unnatural blue corrosion creeping across the charm over the duration of the shield (accelerating as the shield absorbs damage). If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.

  • This consumable is destroyed when used and cannot be used again.

Use up this syringe and spend 1 minute. Roll 7 dice at Difficulty 6, dice penalties do not apply.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see it looks like a spirit soul begins to flow into the syringe itself, and it glows with this energy this like sickening energy.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • This consumable is destroyed when used and cannot be used again.
  • Unstabilized wounds do not degenerate during treatment.

On where the objects are:
Jacob's always been some sort of medium...
There's... a thin line between life and death. He seems to tread on that, and he's gained the ability to make use of the Realm Between. This is just the start of the applications...
On death:
Jacob is the only one who can access this Realm, so all items that were in it will be left there on his death.

Spend an Action.

You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within arm’s reach to your stash. You may only stash targets which are in your possession, grappled, or otherwise controlled by you.

You may store Objects in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside an SUV (4,000 liters), and you may store up to 7 things at a time.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Jacob's outsretched appendage contorts and rips apart to allow blood-red, ectoplasmic growths to emerge from the cracks in the flesh and engulf the target object, swallowing and absorbing it back into Jacob.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • The Maximum Object Size parameter is intended to roughly capture the weight / size restriction of items and isn’t intended to restrict shape. GM discretion is advised. A human being is approximately 60 liters.
  • Containers which hold multiple things may count as a single item so long as the things within are generally packaged together. For instance, you may stash a clip full of bullets, a medical kit full of medical supplies, or a box of crackers, but you cannot stash a backpack full of miscellaneous equipment.
  • You may only attempt to store Objects which are free-standing and disconnected from other things. The use of this Effect will not allow you to sever any connections holding an Object in place.

A Huge ghostly clockwork face using disconnected limbs can be seen crafting these perfected Forms, as it notices this breach it crushes it closed. the drone of gears grinding, scraping, almost pleading out for something can be heard as the rift is sealed.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action.

Choose an Object which could fit inside a large luggage bag (up to 75 liters). It must be Non-Alien and generic but can include rare materials (such as radium, gold, or drugs). Rare objects and their materials last no longer than 45 minutes.. You cannot create explosives. You may create firearms.

Roll Intellect + Crafts to fabricate up to 5 copies of your chosen Object. The Difficulty is assigned by the GM and depends on the specificity of your chosen Object. Your created items no longer expire, and will last until they are destroyed.

You may produce Bronze with this Effect without Exerting your Mind or making a roll. The amount produced is double your normal maximum volume.

  • You may cause a created item to expire at will as a Free Action, destroying the item.

Exert your Mind and spend a Quick Action.

You transform into a comically muscular old lady (7ft 2in, 800lbs) for 3 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are a comically muscular old lady (7ft 2in, 800lbs), and you can use your equipment. Your Battle Scars, Injuries, and physical Liabilities are carried over between forms. Reverting from your Alternate Form cannot cause your existing Injuries to kill you. Instead, you remain Incapacitated.

While transformed, your Brawn is increased by 3. Your Stress is reduced by 2.

Your alternate form is its own deadly weapon. Unarmed attacks made in your alternate form deal +3 Weapon Damage (instead of the typical -1).

After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

While transformed, you automatically fail any Mind roll to resist an impulse and suffer -3 dice on all other Mind rolls.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Come, Deary! - You have supernaturally strong grandmotherly instincts. (Whenever you would be talking with a young person or especially a child, roll Self-Control not to be forced to spoil them and treat them like a beloved grandchild).

  • Reminder: Weapon Damage from multiple sources does not stack. Instead, the highest value is used.
  • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

Stock Activated Gifts

Exert your Mind and spend an Action.

You automatically detect all illegal materials within 50 feet of you for the next hour. You have a clear sense of both the distance and direction towards any detected items. You do not learn any details about the detected items.

  • This includes any objects that come into range during activation.
  • This Effect does not satisfy the line of sight targeting requirement for other Effects.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action or Reaction.

You phase out of reality for up to 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot perceive or affect the outside world or take any Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.

You leave a golden glow shaped like yourself at your location.

  • If you use this Effect to dodge as a Reaction, it succeeds without the need for a roll. Cannot be used as a Desperate Defense.
  • You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action.

You may move easily and without a roll in any of the following situations. Lasts 2 hours.

  • Spider Climber: You are able to climb on and cling to any surface without regard for the ordinary rules of gravity. You climb at your normal movespeed.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action.

You transform into a brown bear for two hours or until you choose to end the Effect. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you cannot use your Active, Targeted, or Trap Powers. However, you can use your Passive Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Intolerance for society. When you are in a situation with strict social protocols (like a trial or a formal dinner) roll Self-Control not to enter a flight or fight response.

  • Creature Stats
    • Large (larger than human, smaller than elephant) Body: 8. Brawn 6. Dexterity 2. Fall damage increased by 2. Armor: 1
All creatures get +3 dice to any non-combat Action that they are naturally adapted for. All creatures Medium and larger may attack by rolling Body, dealing +0 Damage (+1 for “predators”). Gms and Playgroup leaders can apply other bonuses and effects to specific animals.
  • Animals that are quicker than humans (like dogs) have 50 feet of Free Movement. Animals that are very slow (like turtles) have 0 feet of Free Movement.
  • You cannot transform if there is not enough room to do so.
  • The form you take must have the same stats and abilities as a single, extant animal of the relevant size.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use a watch to activate this Effect.

Lasts 1 minute. Whenever you use your Movement, after all other calculations, the distance you may travel is doubled.

Outside of Combat, any non-Gift, non-movement Actions you attempt take drastically less time to complete, as long as your personal speed is a factor in the Action. Total time reduction is determined by the GM and capped at 90% (executing the Action takes no less than 1/10th the normal time).

  • The time reduction on non-Movement Actions applies only to the parts of actions when your personal speed is a factor,: pouring water or smoking a steak are not affected, but constructing a shelter or picking a lock would be. The GM will determine how much the total time is reduced based on how relevant personal speed is to the task.
  • Any Encumbrance penalty to your movement still applies, but you do not suffer from any sort of exhaustion.
  • Damage from a collision depends on your speed at the time, as well as what you hit. GM's discretion, but generally moving faster than a car on the freeway and hitting a dense, solid object like a wall or a tree should be lethal. Mundane armor will not apply, but any supernatural forms of protection will.
