Description

There was a time when battlefield medics would race each other to see who could amputate the most limbs in an hour. Often they could be found standing beside a pile of limbs stacked head-high, wiping their blade on their aprons between patients.

These days amputations are rare, but Dr. Freeman believes they should be more common. "An injury separated from one's body is no injury at all," he says, removing a patient's mangled hand with a few practiced hacks. And it's true! Behold a fully-healed stump where once there was a threatening injury.

System

Exert your Mind and spend 2 Rounds treating a specific Injury on a Living target. Roll Dexterity + Medicine Difficulty 10 - 3. Each Success reduces the Injury's Severity by one. If you can reduce its Severity to zero, the wound is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and fully, Properly Stabilized. It will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

You cannot target yourself, and you cannot target the same Injury more than once.


Enhancements

  • Heal Thyself (You may target yourself)

Drawbacks

  • Mage (Activating this Effect requires two consecutive Actions of Concentration. It involves intricate use of the body and voice. If interrupted during activation, the Effect fails. It is obvious you are preparing to activate an Effect during casting.)
    • Activation Ritual - Amputate the limb in question
  • Focus (Using this Effect requires a specific kind of item.)
    • Object - A blade or saw
  • Conditional (This Effect is only available when a certain condition is met. This condition must be severe enough that this Gift is unusable the majority of the time.)
    • Condition - Can only be used on Injuries that are on limbs
  • Scarring (When you Activate this Effect, roll a single d10. If the result is 5 or lower, your target receives a Minor Battle Scar.)
    • None - Amputated body part
