Plunge yourself into the darkness you so choose to deny and let me take hold of you, Haerin. "You let the dragon rest its vestige within yourself, so let me have a go at it." This phrase echoes in your mind as you witness Haerin's vessel crack and tear, the darkness around you consumed by your abyss. That feeling of darkness inside him twisting and rippling, as you finally accept what you are. A monster.
"Let me use you this time, to reside in your vessel as your vestige for just a moment and let me free, fully. Cut yourself, let the blood linger on your blade as you slowly tear apart from the inside out, my body replacing yours for just a moment... But fret not, once I'll be done. Once everything that stands in your way is dead. That I promise."
Baam: The endless night, the constant darkness that Haerin had let fester within him for far too long. Does it have his best interest at heart, is it simply not using him? Great question.
Baam's appearance is that of a younger Haerin, yet with many things amiss. White hair, blackened out eyes, blackened out smile, a smooth almost featureless face with just a large, uncanny smile plastered onto it, unmoving, unchanging, even when expressing other emotions, as though it were a mask over its true form.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend a Quick Action. You must actively and obviously use Sword to activate this Effect.
You transform into Baam for 30 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are Baam, and you can use your equipment. The Injuries and Battle Scars of your Alternate Form and your true form are tracked separately.
While transformed, your Dexterity is increased by 2. Your Stress is reduced by 2.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Countless screaming souls cry out in unison as their essence is torn apart and plastered over the user, imbuing them in malice that envelopes their entire being.
After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.

The tip of one of your finger crack as the alien effect is expulsed at high speed from your wound.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You get +2 dice to any Body resistance rolls you make. You also gain the following effects:
At random, sporadic intervals, without either rhyme or reason, the gift user inevitably comes across yet more alternate versions of themselves from different, unknown timelines. Some of these alternate selves may be very similar to the gift user - they might wear similar clothes, and have similar mannerisms and beliefs - however some can instead be wildly different depending on the lives they have led, and the timelines they have came from. Likewise, their goals can differ too: even though most of the gift user's alternate selves are likely to be at least somewhat aligned with them, and thus willing to lend their assistance, there is also the rare chance for encountering alternate selves that are downright hostile, potentially even to a homicidal extent.
The actual process of an alternate self getting summoned through time often happens beyond the gift user's sight: in a different room, behind a corner, or somewhere else of that sort. Other times, the temporary guest's appearance may be noticed immediately, such as when they show up sitting in an unoccupied chair or standing right next to another person. No matter the level of conspicuousness, though, all of these summonings always have a single common element that remains unchanged - they begin with the trickling in of tiny grains of carmine sand. At first, there's barely any; then, the streams gradually grow, seemingly coming from nowhere; and, finally, with the rough shape of a person formed, the alternate self gets revealed while the sand is blown away into nothingness.
The weaponry of each alternate self that is summoned by this Effect is determined by the rules detailed in the Extended Description.
Each time an alternate self is summoned via this gift, a D20 is rolled to determine what class of weapons - if any - that alternate self comes equipped with.

This Effect activates whenever someone uses their Will to Survive. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you instead witness the appearance of an alternate self that is openly hostile to you, your allies and your goals. Unlike non-hostile alternate selves, hostile ones may refuse to follow any commands you give and cannot be ended prematurely at will.
Summon up to 3 Sapient alternate selves - but only a single one per activation of this Effect - at your location. They last for two hours or until they move more than 150 feet from you or are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 3 minions active at a time.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Temporal Commitment.
Zhu accesses his body's ability to become something monstrous .
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
You transform into a demonic pig monster for 3 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are a demonic pig monster, and you can use your equipment. Your Battle Scars, Injuries, and physical Liabilities are carried over between forms. Reverting from your Alternate Form cannot cause your existing Injuries to kill you. Instead, you remain Incapacitated.
While transformed, your Brawn is increased by 2 and your Charisma is increased by 2. Your Stress is reduced by 2.
Your alternate form is its own deadly weapon. Unarmed attacks made in your alternate form deal +3 Weapon Damage (instead of the typical -1).
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Zhu transform into a monstrous pig.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
producing a sheet of brilliant red paper from my notebook, I fold a tulip and give it to you to hold as I work to stabilize your wounds. the sheer beauty of it tethers you to life, keeping you from the empty peace of death. where I touch you, you feel a biting winter cold on your skin for a few minutes.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
All Stabilizations you attempt are considered Proper Stabilizations.
You also gain the following effects:
Gripping her weapon, Nikki can cry out and make herself seem like a more dangerous target...which will likely end badly.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. A number of Animate targets within 50 feet who can perceive you through no greater than your Charisma rating are affected. Audiences or mobs with a singular focus count as one target. This Effect cannot be used unless your grit is active. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. Roll Charisma + Melee at Difficulty 6. All affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the targets will keep their full attention focused on you for Contested Outcome in Rounds. They will automatically fail any rolls related to noticing anything other than you.
If you pass from their perception and they are unable to pursue you, the Effect ends. If they can follow you, they must do so for 2 Rounds or the Effect will end. The Effect will continue even if violence occurs nearby or if your target is Injured. It does end if the target takes Damage from a source other than you.
This does not affect the target’s opinion of you or their mood, and they may take any Actions while affected (including attacking), as long as that action centers on you. Fascinated targets cannot Concentrate.
You may activate this Effect as a Reaction to contest any Action a valid target is taking. The target does not roll to resist, and beating their Outcome does not fascinate them. This interrupts Concentration.
The Solider is accustomed to going long periods without food or water and can operate on very little sleep.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You may go five times longer than a normal human without food, water, sleep, and air. Any roll to resist an Effect dependent on any affected requirement is made at -1 Difficulty.
The detective pulls out their magnifying glass and investigates the area, learning details about any nearby structures and picking up details on what sorts of beings have passed through and when.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet You must actively and obviously use a magnifying glass to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn the following information about the area:
You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.
Come one, come all! Stand in amazement and behold as the Fire Eater consumes a flame as if it were cotton candy! Gasp with fright as they breathe a plume of fire a great distance! And yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is quite dangerous.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: perform a fire-breathing trick. Select a target within 20 feet which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire). Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you take a Severity-4 Injury as the fire burns your throat. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.
You may start or extinguish a fire as large as a firepit's fire at your target. Extinguishing a fire does not cost Exertion. You may create or extinguish fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.
Lighting a target on fire deals 4 Damage each Round on your turn, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the target’s Armor rating will be shredded by any Damage dealt, destroying material Armor once it reaches 0.
You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.
The mobster presents a reasoned, logical case to the target: there's a lot of dangerous folks out there, and only they can offer safety... for a price.
If they agree, they will pay the mobster a monthly fee for protection. If they stop making their payments... well, let's just say, the mobster can't be held responsible for any unsavory types that might pay them a visit.
This Effect cannot be used unless you are making a deal to exchange money for protection.
You may make an oath with a physically-present, Sapient target. Communicate the oath's terms to the target, including the requirements and penalties for each participant. If all agree to the terms, you must Exert your Mind and all participants must shake hands to seal the deal.
Record the oath as a Condition. If a party breaks the oath, the Condition ends and they suffer the oath's penalty.
When crafting your oath, you may incorporate any of the following penalties:
The target cannot be compelled to agree via a direct threat of violence, another Effect, or another oath. If you would like to use clever wording to mislead the target, you must succeed a contested Intellect + (Culture or Influence) roll.
The aquamancer spends a minute soaking their wounds in at least a gallon of water. During this time, the injured area is obviously absorbing the liquid, and the flesh visibly knits back together.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. You must use up at least a gallon of water in order to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on yourself that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Brawn + Survival at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
