This Artifact allows you to learn new information about the area you are in.

On Legendary Artifact Stave of Purity.
( During Effect activation, you are obviously investigating the area. You must actively and obviously be using up 2 litres of purified water. You must obviously use this Artifact to activate this Effect. When activating this Effect, this Artifact is obviously Alien and cannot be concealed under your clothes or similar.)

Water splashes onto the stave, activating its ability, with light reflecting from each liquid molecule in the space, no matter how dense or spacious, with all those rays of light bouncing around and eventually hitting the crystal, which then shows an overview of what the user wishes to see over their UI or projected into their mind if they lack one.


Spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 500 feet You must use up 2 litres of purified water in order to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Investigation at Difficulty 6.

  • You learn how heavily trafficked the area is, what sorts of Animate beings have moved through the area and when.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 1.

You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.

Community Investigate Area Gifts

Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend 2 Actions. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 500 feet You must actively and obviously use staff, wand, stave. to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6.

You learn the following information about the area:

  • You can tell which entities lay claim to each part of the area and how these borders have shifted over time.
  • You learn where exactly creatures and people live within the area, and what sorts of creatures they are.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.

You cannot investigate the same area more than once per day.

  • The sacrificial Injury received from activating this Effect cannot be prevented by any means or healed before 1 day has passed. It is shared with all Effects that use sacrifice. This Injury does not requires Stabilization or cause Battle Scars when it becomes Severe.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.

  • Exhaustion penalties and duration stack. If you activate this Effect or another Effect with Exhaustion, your penalty will worsen, and the duration is increased by one hour.
