Legacy Power: Medical Restraints

"I'm sorry about this."

A 2 Gift Restrict Power used by Terry Buckworth, created by ShadyTradesman.

Description

Terry snaps his fingers, and mint-colored medical restraints appear with green sparks and wrap around his target. They may attempt to break free. After the binding is broken, the medical restraints decay in green sparks.

System

Spend an Action, Exert your Mind, and roll Wits + Medicine Difficulty 6 to Restrict a target within 20 feet. The target may contest this by rolling to dodge or Defend (as for an attack with a thrown weapon) as a Reaction. Success fixes the target in place at their location, although they still can move their arms, use Powers, etc.

The target may attempt to break free by making an attack against their bonds at +1 difficulty. Breaking the binding requires an amount of damage equal to double the initial Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly. Other individuals may also damage the binding by attacking it at +1 difficulty.

Enhancements

  • Encase (If the Contested Outcome is higher than the target’s Brawn, they are encased and cannot take any physical Actions other than attempting to escape until they break free.)

Drawbacks

  • Conditional (This Effect is only available when a certain condition is met. This condition must be severe enough that this Gift is unusable the majority of the time.)
    • Condition - Target must be initiating or escalating physical aggression

Parameters

Range: 1 ( 20 feet )
