When augmenting herself, Kat alternates between restful meditative poses similar to yoga, and slowly going through a series of motions similar to martial arts katas. These focus her intention and clear her mind until the capability takes shape within her.
As explained by scientists in the alternate universe Kat has a mental connection to, she has the same ability that some there do. She manipulates a unique wave/particle called a Ficton. This connects her to another reality and allows her to manifest 'super powers' exhibited by people there. She must learn each in turn, her first being the assortment available via Augment. Durability, speed, and enhanced hand to hand combat are common there and were simple enough. More difficult were the environmental adaptations many there have. Tougher was manifesting the fog around objects as she places them into or removes them from a non-physical echo of her physical body, using it as limited storage. Most difficult to learn was the rarest ability there, causing her mind to manifest a functional version of physical technology. While hoping to find something more versatile than a cell phone to mimic, technology in this universe offers little better. If someone here has created a more advanced device similar to the communicators used by hero teams there, she must examine the device and how it functions before mimicking it. Thankfully she doesn't need to know the inner workings, just the properties and how to use it.
The Ficton connection isn't just between this universe and that, but each person with the ability can only access one other universe. Those with this ability in the universe she accesses have connected to universes that grant them things like fantasy magic, making Steampunk devices function there, etc.
Exert your Mind and spend 30 minutes. You may only target yourself. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Trauma and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
The augmentations you provide are not outwardly visible nor obvious.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
Kyle doesn’t work with spells or surgeries.
He works with instinct, touch, and time —
rewriting flesh the same way a river carves stone.
When he chooses a target,
he draws close, crouching low,
his fursuit flexing and bristling in sympathy with the task ahead.
Clawed fingertips trail lightly over the target’s skin or fur — not cutting, not scarring —
feeling the hidden currents inside them.
Over the course of eight long hours,
Kyle coaxes new traits to the surface —
teaching the body to grow differently, to adapt, to awaken things buried in its own potential.
There is no anesthetic.
No clean break between who they were and who they become.
Every change leaves a mark on their soul —
a whisper in their blood that they are no longer entirely themselves.
When the process finishes,
the target rises not with stitches, but with new instincts stitched into their flesh.
Sharper claws.
A hidden pouch.
Armor-hard skin.
The ability to move faster, breathe underwater, or carry hidden tools within their bones.
It isn’t magic.
It isn’t technology.
It’s natural evolution —
sped up, focused, and delivered by Kyle’s own hands.

The body is not a finished product—it is a blueprint, a rough sketch waiting for revision. Through his meticulous craftsmanship, flesh and bone become something smarter, sharper, superior. Using his custom-engineered implants, he rewrites human limitations, embedding precision-crafted machinery into the bodies of those willing—and sometimes unwilling—to evolve.
Each augmentation is a masterwork, uniquely tailored to the individual, as personal as ink, as permanent as scar tissue. Zero does not deal in mass-produced cyberware—his creations are bespoke, each one bearing his signature: a discreet Ø alongside the Chinese ideograms for "Zero". They are more than mere modifications; they are a statement, a legacy, a brand.
On others, Zero's work is expression, a philosophical act—he is not just installing hardware, he is shaping identity. But on himself? His augments are calculated, tactical, a means to an end. Power is not an abstract idea—it is built, installed, and wired beneath the skin.
And Zero? He is both architect and test subject, engineer and experiment, creator and creation.

Through the reflective surface, Nathan invites a specific damned spirit, commonly with an offerring of some sort, bearing the appalling appearance of their particular death, squirming into his body, gifting his reflection a misshapen conjoined ghost which lends its capabilities.
The possessor of the spirit can always see their disturbing form reflected.
Spirit possession is practiced by spirit mediums, which has a deity who is invited to take over the their body, granting noticeable alterations to the practitioner. This capability stems from the nature of the mediums, who if compared to vessels are unfilled unlike most adults. This grants them space that deities can occupy.
Nathan cannot do that, he does not have the reach to even commune with a deity, let alone invite their presence but with part of his hun as a reflection, he can replicate some aspects of this effect, calling upon the dead, or even only parts of them. After the occupation is complete, then the real work can be done, transference.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see the forming of the terrible lingering spirit.
At the heart of Jessica's research lies the revelation that crystalline light isn't merely an advanced concept in particle physics, but a manifestation of alien intelligence with its own will to form. Harnessing this phenomenon as a bridge, Jessica can merge alien genetic material with human physiology, yielding disturbing yet powerful biological enhancements. As she channels this ability, crystals of light proliferate across the room and patient, emanating an opalescent glow that shifts and writhes with impossible colors.
The process begins as luminescent crystal tendrils pierce the subject's skin, branching out like glowing veins beneath the surface. Affected areas undergo rapid, unsettling metamorphoses – limbs elongate unnaturally, extra eyes sprout in unexpected places, or skin becomes translucent, revealing pulsating, alien organs. Throughout the operation, the patient experiences intense fever and vivid hallucinations, a harrowing ordeal that subsides after several hours.
These alterations bestow superhuman abilities, with the enhanced flesh eventually conforming to the patient's original shape. However, occasional quivers and the development of colored geometric patterns betray the struggle of alien matter to maintain its new form within the human host. While temporary, the process leaves behind residual changes: faint, glowing skin patterns and fleeting flashes of inhuman perception serve as constant reminders of the tenuous veil between humanity and the cosmic unknown.
