Legacy Power: Acid Spray

How can you torture people without a signature and unique way of doing it?

Description

Following behind the back of Milo is a long, light blue, transparent tendril of ooze that seems to have a promiscuous and deep blue fluid flowing through it. It narrows down into a bulbous semi-sphere at the end that can expel this fluid. This fluid is an acid that eats away at a target's armor and body, searing the body overtime.

System

Spend an Action, Exert your Mind, choose a target within 45 feet, and roll Perception + Firearms Difficulty 6. The target may defend by rolling Body, Difficulty 6 as a Free Action.

Damage dealt equals the difference between your attack roll's Outcome and the defensive roll's (if one was made), plus 2.The target's Armor is Fully Effective.


Enhancements

  • Cantrip (Activating this Effect has no Exertion cost, but it can have no more than 3 Drawbacks and its Gift Cost can never be increased above 2.)
  • That's Gonna Leave A Mark (If the target suffers an Injury from this Effect, they will receive at least a Minor Battle Scar regardless of its Severity. When this Effect causes a Battle Scar, you may select which one of the appropriate level.)
  • Shredder (If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.)

Drawbacks

  • Monstrous (Possessing this Power causes a mutation that elicits a strong, negative social response from the average person in your setting. The mutation is visible even if you are wearing long sleeves, pants, and shoes. Maximum one per Contractor.)
    • Mutation - Acid Spray is a long tendril that comes out of the back to use as a sort of 'mounted firearm.'
  • Slow (Instead of dealing Damage all at once, the Injury caused by this Power starts at Severity 1 and worsens at the rate of one level per Round until it reaches the Severity it would have otherwise been.)
  • Critical Failure (Roll a single D10 when you activate this Effect. If you roll a 1, you critically fail in a way that is extraordinarily dangerous. Failure should cause at least a Severity-4 Injury, a Major Battle Scar, or an effect counter to its purpose.)
    • Critical Failure effect - The acid sprays directly up rather than the intended target, causing the user to become the new target of the power.
