Ardis "Longshot" Hemmingway's Journal

Hitlist of The Longshot

This is a catalogue that will be written in before and after each of my missions as I am employed. I will be marking special missions where the payment isn't in money, but through special agreements with power-granting spooks known as Harbingers, and sometimes I wonder if they are more trouble then they are worth. Before that, background on the owner of this journal.

My real name is Former Special Forces Weapon Sergent Ardis Hemmingway, and I have been through the ringer when it comes to the US Military. For the first couple years of service, I was given high marks for my unusually high marksmanship ability, and I earned the title of Special Forces. However, I was puzzled since I had very much failed my physical exam. However, I learned that the reason for this was without my consent, they put experimental aiming technology into my eye without my consent, and forced me through a full year of war in Iraq before I was allowed to leave. Even when I got back, they ruined my life, saying I was dishonorably discharged for deserting and leaving my friends to die. I was disowned by my family, my friends, and nobody would ever talk to me thanks to my eye. But I vowed to make them pay, and till then I will be killing people for money and power, power enough to take this country into my own hands.

The Gang

Beforehand Entry

After the events of the events of my last Spooky Job, I learned a special trick to allow me to use my Sniper Rifle as a Melee weapon by combining my two powers. Now, I can actually take jobs where my expertise wasn't completely helpful, so this job for The Russian Mob looks perfect. Now, normally I vet my jobs carefully, as there are just certain people I would rather not kill, but these guys were absolute scumbags. They are a would-be drug cartel trying to use these resources to drug women and take advantage of them. To top it all off, their leader might be related to the mad doctor who did this, and that pisses me off.

Aftermath Entry

The goal was the simple cleanup of a local drug gang known as The Barrios. These dudes were stupid, but they were based in the sewers, in a special area where my sniper rifle was extremely hard to use. However, my armor is now as tough as solid steel, as these gangbangers have nothing but pipes, knifes and fist. They began calling me the devil from the amount of people I killed, and when I met their leader, he was more then willing to beg for his life in any and every way he can muster. Obviously, I probe him about the good doctor, but this dumbass was his clueless offspring. Unfortunately for him, his life is worth $10,000. I easily killed every last one of them, and the payday is perfect for my future endeavors

The Warden

Beforehand Entry

Within the Yukenhide Maximum Security Prison, there is a man named Warden Gregory Shire who had gotten the ire of a conwoman due to a special kind of punishment he liked to inflict. The problem was he lived there for 24 hours a day, and there was no way she can get in. To kill the man, I need to break into a prison undetected, then get out the same way. I'll need to investigate the guard patterns, the security measures, used my connections to get a layout of the building. However, I now have the power to go through undetected, so I think this mission is well within my skillset, to the point where I can see this man face to face.

Aftermath Report

With my new power, all of the prison's sensors could do absolutely nothing to stop me from killing this man. Most of the most reliable technology is cameras and guards. Thermal and Motion detectors if they were there would rely on them assuming they would eventually see the intruder, and this prison is not so lucky. This man looked into the sunset, waiting for my client to come back to him like a perverted love story, before I stabbed my blade through his fat skull. The woman was beyond grateful, and doubted how successful I would be. She payed extra for this job, and I took that extra money to splurge for a fancy dinner. I poured out a flask for those in the trenches, trying to think what life would be like without this eye.
