It is 3:18 AM, Wednesday morning. I am downstairs in front of my seance table. I can see them.
A woman who I spoke with earlier today. Tragic car accident. Her wife came to me, and I spoke with her. Her name was Tessa.
After her wife, Chrissy, I think her name was, left, she just... stayed in my parlor. I saw her in the corner of my eye, looming, watching. That shattered shoulder and broken, hanging jaw juxtaposed with those beautiful green eyes that flash brilliantly in the candlelight. Like she was waiting for something. She wouldn't go. I tried to ignore her. But her whispers kept me from experiencing true silence. I finally asked her with The Voice what she wanted. She simply cringed and raised her hands to her ears... well, as best as she could with a shattered left arm.
My Voice was too loud... it was painful for her to experience firsthand. I needed something, a focus, a medium. I went upstairs to get a talisman from my jewelry drawer and came back down to Tessa. I held the talisman up and spoke a command... *"Please, be at rest. Go home and see your wife for the last time. She will fulfill your final wishes."*
The spirit turned from me... and opened the door to my shop... letting the cold November breeze in. She. Opened. The. Door.
And though I was inside, I saw more of them just beyond the door, more of the spirits that I've spoken to over the years. Standing outside, waiting. Watching. They're here. For what reason, I do not know.
But I can reason with them now... They've never listened like this before.
Oh... Anali's calling again. Joyous.
