"Haha... no, it ran away--I didn't expect it to still be hunting me after it had its feast of my family..." The sound of teeth being gritted is heard. "I'm sorry for abandoning you guys,. I'll make sure you're safe and healed up first before I finish my fight with this thing."
Mel's expression and tone hardened. "Unstrap me, Abbas, and then help me sit up."
Abbas releases the straps on Mel, after making sure there isnt any after bleed, and seems surprised by the hug.
"I'm so sorry for your loss," Mel whispered with a heavy sincerity before letting Abbas go.
Abbas backs up and shakes his head. "It's been over a year already--back on this though... How's Jason?"
A year is not long at all, Mel thought to herself. But she honored the unspoken request. "He's alive and back at the crypt, and I need to go back there today--if I don't, I'm pretty sure I'm going to die."

"Crypt...? Wait, hold up, do you know if we can check you out right now?"
"Hospitals don't hold people against their will, so long as they haven't been deemed unable to make decisions for themselves." Mel layed back down, cringing as she used her aching abdomen muscles and arms to do so slowly. "I basically just have to do the paperwork, which I can send someone else to--" Her sentence cut off as she inhaled sharply from sudden pain. Now she looked unnaturally pale and her bruises seemed to visibly expand. "Abbas," she whispered, her expression scared and exhausted, "please take me to Jason--to the crypt entrance at the Motown museum."
Abbas will hurriedly come over to Mel's side and help her get up, worried about her and jason too now. Taking in a deep breath, he picks her up and then takes his dolphin teeth necklace into his mouth with a soft bite. Mel knows this allows Abbas to almost become one with nature in a way, making it harder to notice him as he starts to carry her out. "Do you need anything on the way?
Mel might have blushed from the embarrassment of this interaction if every fiber of her being didn't ache so intensely. She shook her head no as they exited the patient room and entered the bustling hallway. Several patients and staff noticed them immediately, but not all. Those that did saw a tall, muscular, middle-aged, dark-skinned man wearing dark clothing, a medical face mask, bandages, and a cap princess carrying a short, thin, pale, extremely bruised and bandaged Asian woman who wore only a blue hospital gown. Then, as they passed by the nurse's station on that floor, Mel mustered her strength to issue a command: "Wait!" To answer the surprised and concerned expressions of the several onlooking nurses (and others), Mel stated with a tone of doctoral authority, "I'm Dr. Melanie Dakkera, and I'm checking out. I'll return to do the paperwork in 24 hours." With that, she rested her head on Abbas' shoulder with a sigh of relief and helpless surrender as he carried her down to the front entrance.

Abbas will, during that time, be giving a death glare at anyone that may even appear as a threat, especially the nurses (it doesn't help that he is wearing a sharp red colored pupil contact), before continuing to go out the hospital. Waving down a taxi (or an uber) and ensuring Mel is in safely and securely, he will enter as well, and with a deepened voice he will tell the driver "Motown museum" (while also glaring at the taxi driver as well).
In the taxi, Mel propped herself up in the corner of the door and the back seat. Her expression was still hard, likely from the pain but also from other things. After a few minutes of looking out the window, she turned to Abbas and whispered, "You didn't abandon us, so you don't need to be forgiven ... but I do want you to promise me something."

Abbas remains silent as he stares out the window, before turning to her and tilts his head slightly. "What is it?" he ask in a low voice.
"You will do everything in your power to have me with you the next time you face the Nain..." Mel paused. "... Because, as long as I'm alive, you don't have to be alone."
Abbas will remain silent and stare out the window at the passing scenery for a bit before saying, "I'll consider it..." in a low yet, almost, perhaps, cheerful? voice.
Upon hearing his response, Mel's expression softened for a moment too--a slight smile. The remainder of the taxi ride to the Motown Museum (and the crypt) was silent.
