An early vacation

Dear Froggie Journal,

My face hurts.

Due to the injuries I got in that basement I had to use 2 sick days to figure something out, cause it’s be hard to explain why I come to work with a face that looks like a Easter ham. Tends to happen after it's forced through a staircase.

If every contract is gonna be like my first I have to get myself into a more mentally sharp state, however that’s done, never been much of a brain guy. Maybe I should also practice my wording, not very charismatic when you got a speech like mine.

Maybe I should also get my license here soon, surprisingly I don't have my boat licence? Definitely a lot of travel involved in these, I think.

After a day or so I realized what this old skull does and oh boy is it somethin’. I getting a little stressed and I random put my head against the skull, it was oddly comforting. After a moment, it felt like my cheeks were being held and my face felt cold. In a moment my face was back to normal! A lil dizzy though.

Last night I also had this, dream? vision? of a tournament like from one of my cartoons, not sure what it means but maybe it’ll manifest soon.

I wonder how Aaron is doing, he'll find me soon, or I will find him, it's as if we are fated to meet. I wonder if he's a contractor now.

Next contract here I come

One with the Frog

Dear Froggie Journal,

Wonderful news, I've discovered what my last contract has awakened within me, the power of JUMPING. Well not that high but still a lot for a normal guy like myself. I went to the river to maybe practice this gift, maybe observe the local froggies for some inspiration. But if not at least i'll have a nice trip to the river.

Did you know the American Bullfrog, can jump about 2 to 3 feet, real big when compared to the size of their bodies, just like me now. Hell you can start calling me Frog instead of Slug... a lot of people think my nickname is referring to the animal but no, it refers to punching, you know slugger, slugfest, slug someone, never told anyone that though.

Anywho

Jumping

After some testing, I think I can jump about 15 up, maybe 75 across. I think I jumped too much, cause I passed out afterwards and woke up in the middle of the night on the side of the river. I wonder if any other contractors can jump like me, maybe even higher than me, probably, maybe Jason will know. Should probably get a new phone first though, freezing waters tend to hurt technology. Speaking of, I'm excited to maybe meet new people like me, could make new friends... or enemies, looking at you Mama! She got what she deserved.

Oh yea! I did end up seeing a Pickerel frog today, and a leech that attached itself to my ankle, lil bugger.

Weird dreams and buying the means

Dear Froggie Journal,

Had to sell a few things, like my cool nightstand, but every penny should be worth it, also gonna have to budget for a bit.

HOWEVER!

I have bought a series of equipment to help me on my various contracts and other endeavours. I've noticed that in times of need I barely ever have anything in my backpack or pockets that help at all, I feel like i've let people down with this... ludwig, my nose, my arm, Jasons leg, a lil regret i'd say. So I wasn't really sure what was needed so I bought a wide variety of items, nothing too high-tech or top of the line but something with real use, you know? Some of the things I bought local and others online. Some items are a waterproof backpack, flashlight, some rations, lighter, etc. Not sure if i covered everything, but i'll most likely get more later on.

Oh! also I got a new phone, not a new model, but it's newer than my last.

On an unrelated note, these odd dreams have become a lot more real, as if in the night I am swept away to a world not of my own yet it bares no difference, each I am filled with an odd rage and bloodlust, and I kill. First I was on this iceberg with a guy who liked socks and has a damn PIRATE form, the ice was crumbling all around us.

I crushed him.

Next was a circus, and get this Valentine was here, the crazy baseball player I meant in Russia. We were on a tightrope, pretty weird situation, I jumped around, punched things, Valentine feel and got eaten. The dreams were so real man.

He's Dead

I killed him.

Aaron, he found me in Goshen after me and the others dealt with the clone situation. I knew he planned to strike, so I convinced the others to help me while we hold up in a local hotel. Luckily, I got a hold of a friend, Jason Brenning, the baseball guy, he agreed to drive in and help out, bless their hearts for helping me, I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for those guys: Gustav, Colvin, Jason, thank you.

As midnight struck, we were preparing ourselves for the assault, but it never came, Aaron wouldn't have been dumb enough to just charge in. Something was dropped by the door, later turned out to be C4, a bomb, as I suspected. We bored into the room next to us, maybe to get some advantage, Aaron set up a dummy with a rather predictable note inside, once upon a time the word "brute" was something endearing...

We were trapped in a way, though after some time we broke free thanks to Gustav and his meat wall, blowing up the C4, with all of us unharmed. Of course this attracted attention, then fear, the innocent fleeing with their families, something about their screams felt so fa miler, I hated it.

The others thought running with the crowd, blending in, was a good idea, I knew better, of course there was a trap waiting for them, another bomb.

Why does it always have to be bombs!

Thankfully, Gustav acted fast enough to throw the bomb, so it didn't the innocent. I stepped out of the room and as if it was fate so did Aaron, manifesting out of nowhere. I hoped to have had a moment where maybe we could talk? Just heart-to-heart like we used to, but it was clear the man I once knew died a long time ago. Before I could get a word in, only uttering his name, he tried to use his powers to control me, probably to paralysis me and let me watch as he kills my friends.

I couldn't let that happen, through sheer will power I brushed off his psychic assault, he seemed surprised, as was I. Then my friends thrown what they could at him but he just, looked their attacks and they flung away. Gustav used his mind to attack Aaron's with success. He was clearly only getting started, and I needed to end this now before he could do any more damage, so with one punch I killed him, in his dying breath wasn't regret, or sadness, only hate, as he essentially became a bomb, exploding into energy.

And so it was done, I killed him.

Before my mind could rest, we headed out to a gas station to fuel up and heal a little. I offered to help Colvin with his doppelgänger problem. It was a simple trip, went to the forest we last saw him, we found him, and Colvin killed him, I got a nasty wound though. Afterwards, we all went to Denny's to celebrate, but I couldn't get Aaron out of my head.

I sit here now on my balcony as I finish writing this, back home finally.

I gaze upon the morning fog, a song stuck in my mind, but I can't quite place it. Playing with his ring, feeling its impressive details and cold metal. Probably gonna hold off on contracts for a while, I need some time to think...

You Bet Your Afterlife!

Here Lies Oliver "Slug" Green

Cause of Death: A fiery explosion deep within the Earth…

Oliver Green, or as some called him "Slug" for his impressive handy work, died. He was a man with a troubled past, but that didn't let that stop him from trying to make the world a better place, but sometimes the world bites back. During his short time as a contractor, his kindness touched the hearts of those around him. He did his best to make sure everyone was okay, not because he saw them as an asset or because they owed him, but because he cared.

He wasn't a very popular, powerful, smart, rich or eccentric, he was just a 'simple man'...
