After recovering from my wounds, I got a better look at the detect-o-magic that I was given as a reward. If someone was able to produce and artifact like this, perhaps there are many many more in the world. I have spent most of my time the last half decade or so in north Africa, southern Europe, and the Levant, and they have treated me mostly well, however, I feel like I have a new awakening. Since developing my powers, I have been overcome with a desire to hunt down these potent historical artifacts, but from what I have begun to realize, they are kept well guarded behind the clutches of historical organization, very rarely still buried beneath the ground or rotting in a tomb.
So, I began doing some sensitive research. I began brainstorming with a goal: find every organization that may be guarding a powerful artifact. So far most of the evidence points towards religious foundations such as the Catholic Church, Orthodox Church, various Islamic leaderships, Pagan revival groups, and the Japanese government. Spending so much time in Rome, I am well acquainted with the Vatican especially for academic purposes. They keep their back door secrets under close lock and key and there doesn't seem to be any avenues if you aren't a devout catholic. I assume the same goes for Islamic organizations which narrows down the most potential targets to be various pagan groups and east Asia.
Japan in particular is a curious case. Due to the warring clans during the various periods, the changes between prefectures to empire to democracy and the influences of Shinto and Buddhism, things get complicated. It seems that there is no singular super organization that holds artifacts in Japan. Of course the government has their own stock of powerful artifacts along with those in the royal family, but with various Shinto shrines, Buddhist temples, and even pockets of Christians, it seems like there may still be some powerful artifacts hiding under rocks here and there. Maybe it's time to start learning how to speak Japanese...
