Downtime

New goal

We met a young woman named Avril in the forest. A noble, I believe, though not former one like I am. Even if she was, it was good enough of a reason for keeping my knife close. We talked, though, mostly Emma and Avril talked, as I just listened and slept through their conversation. But I believe their plan had something to do with Moss, and getting to Ibwaii. If I could find my brother, I certainly wouldn't mind getting him there.

We travelled long distance, taking a sidepath, deciding to avoid the main road, littered with bodies scattered on the roadside. Soon after, we reached a service area near the place called Dresven. I initially thought it was some industrial place-- but I must've confused it with some other, because why would a city with booming industry be located in a middle of nowhere?

We ate a bit, and got new clean clothes. Well, they were clean, but not anymore. And we talked with some man. He told us a story, about how he was separated from his family by a quarantine twenty years ago, and asked us to find his family. Be it them alive... or a confirmation of their demise. He offered some rewards in return, and we agreed.

I wish we didn't. This was not worth it at all. Even if he paid ten times what he offered, it still wouldn't be worth it - not with how things rapidly would get worse and worse. And the first bad omen, from which all began, was when an insane person attacked Avril, and we were forced to put him down with lethal force.
