After I returned from my first freelance contract, master was happy to see me.  He was worried that these activities would highlight activities related to his school.  So he pulled me aside and performed a magic spell.

I felt my reflexes sharpen with my rapier almost instantly.  Despite his advanced age, the master requested a quick fencing match.  I of course won, but he did say he noticed the difference in my skill and speed.  Douglas the Third has been kind to me.  It seems he does wish me the best.

Douglas the Fourth had his children over today as well.  It's always a pleasure to see the children.  Although it can can be difficult to keep them out of the Master's study.  He has some very sensitive arcane experiments going on there, and he'd rather them not be disturbed.

It is what it is, but it was nice not staying in the mansion.
