Lucius (strákur) Emmanuel Jóhannesson's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Lucius lives in Iceland! The country of volcanic activity, ice, snow, glaciers, geothermal hotsprings and cooking ovens. He lives in a lovely house in the capital with his current adoptive father Cain, a priest to the local church and volcano evacuation point, located atop a cliff.

He likes Iceland a lot, he’s eaten eggs cooked in the ground, been to all sorts of local museums and restaurants, and loves everything the convenience stores have to offer, from lava chocolate bars to salted and dried fish. He’ll take it all! He’s certainly not picky.

He’s been happy to participate in the contracts to go all around the world however, because no matter how much he loves his home, he also loves seeing new and faraway places that a seven year old could not usually get to.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

As a small child, Lucius has never had and he certainly doesn’t need a job, not counting the contracts of course, or that one contract where he worked a shift in some strange supernatural dungeons.

He gets his money through his allowance. In the past when his previous parents were alive, he didn’t get given much money or entertainment, but his current father gives him somewhere between 1-10 (or equivalent) in dollars when necessary or when he’ll be going out and doing something important.

If he doesn’t spend it all before he gets back, he usually gives it back or puts it in his piggybank and forgets about it.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Lucius wants to impress, he wants to impress his father and the people around him to the point where they’ll praise him, he likes that! Especially after being told off his whole life for things beyond his control, such as his superhuman strength or connections to the strange and eldritch.

When Cain came along and didn’t berate him for his strength, his habit for breaking things often, or his best friend Michael, he was surprised. And when he was even praised for all of this by Cain and the other cult members, he was even more shocked, and overwhelmingly happy too.

He doesn’t quite grapple with his mortality at his young age, so he’ll do whatever action it takes, no matter how dangerous or daring, he just wants to keep people happy and impressed by his actions and the only things he knows how to do well, and he’ll continue doing so for the foreseeable future.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Link Answered after Contract 8, Solvestrum Castle

Not much has happened, and if it has, Lucius hasn’t particularly acknowledged it.
There has however, been events in the past his young brain has completely shut out due to the traumatic experience and situation happening within, despite him being unaware of them, these events would likely be the answer.

When he was very young, his parents attended the church upon the cliff, far before Cain returned to preach or run it himself, too busy and preoccupied with his own work, and a few of the members within the cult at that time, unbeknownst to their master, took advantage of such easy pickings, using Lucius for their own means, occult-related or otherwise, no matter how much it hurt the child. His past absent parents were also unaware, either ignoring or not caring. They even went so far to try and have their own child exorcised several times.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

Michael-

His best friend in the entire world, and Michael isn’t even human. It appeared to Lucius one day, the sight would’ve been terrifying to any individual if it wasn’t for the child being wholly unaware of the horror and finding beauty in the form, Lucius drew the multicoloured many-eyed unclear and unclean form of ‘Michael’ with his sharpened crayons, and happily showed the eldritch creature. To his delight, Michael liked the drawing, and never left his side. Lucius named him, believing him to be his very own angel, sent to look after him.

Cain-

His current father, who adopted him. Lucius likes his pasta, he makes a lot of it and all of it is very good. As well as this, he trains Lucius in many many subjects, homeschooling him in everything from dance to combat. Lucius might not be good at a lot of it, but Cain rubs his head and tells him he did an amazing job anyway!

6. How was your childhood? Who were your parents? What were they like? Did you attend school? If so, did you fit in? If not, why not?

Link Answered after Contract 8, Solvestrum Castle

Lucius has never attended school, being tutored and homeschooled for all of his life so far, his somewhat rich past parents being able to pay for his tuition. However, Lucius has never been one for intellectual subjects, much preferring things such as art, which lets him draw what he wants and show his creativity.

His parents were strict, hardly even well-meaning, religious, far too religious as opposed to using it for moral good and betterment, they used it to control and strike fear. Lucius still sees and remembers the best in them, despite there not being much, but that’s just how Lucius is most of the time.

Despite being homeschooled and shut away in his own home most of his life, he’s talkative and chatty, getting along very quickly with any other child he decides to talk to, he’s lovable and nice and that gets him far in life and relationships.

7. Have you ever been in love? With who? What happened? If not, why not?

Link Answered after Contract 8, Solvestrum Castle

Lucius is far too young to be in love, as a seven year old, anything serious that is anyway, but even as far as small, immature or childhood crushes go, he hasn’t felt much or even really considered it, he knows of love and marriage as far as anyone would guess, so time will tell perhaps.

As far as he knows, he does have a great love for a great many things though! Some of these listed below in no particular order.

-Michael, his closest friend, being, companion, angel. It’s hard to describe what their relationship is, but there is great care coming from both parties within it.

-Drawing, he loves expressing himself with messy crayon drawings.

-Pasta, the best of dishes in Lucius opinion, he loves pasta, all kinds, as long as it’s vegetarian.

-Tv, he likes funny cartoons!

8. What are your worst fears? Why?

Link Answered after Contract 8, Solvestrum Castle

Despite him not quite getting a lot of things yet, he’s certainly felt fear, some he remembers, and some he doesn’t.

Lucius is scared of cannibals, this is a direct result of the contracts, as he’s happened to be on about three of them involving cannibals, seeing the destruction they caused, and how they didn’t even seem to care. Lucius is a vegetarian, and gets sad even thinking about eating animals, let alone humans, he can’t fathom it really, but he doesn’t like the idea.

Lucius is scared of going for doctors checkups, he’s okay with doctors and the concept of them, but gets worried when he has to go, due to a past attempt of stealing Michael from him, even if they weren’t exactly real doctors.

Lucius is scared of mean looking adults, he doesn’t let this one get to him as much, but it’s understandable, he might be far stronger than they’ll ever be..but he doesn’t like being spoken down to, being made out to be immature, belittleed or just anyone being rude in general.

Finally, Lucius is partially scared of the future..he doesn’t like to think about it, he forgets a lot about the past, and he’s scared the more that’ll pass the more he’ll forget, or the more bad things might get, that his happiness could be pulled from him at any second as it almost has before.

9. What is (are) your most prized possession(s)? What makes it (them) so special?

Link Answered after Contract 8, Solvestrum Castle

He prizes his crayons, for being the medium in which he funnels his creative powers and makes his masterpieces.

He prizes his side of the friendship bracelet Michael and him share, made out of dried coloured pasta and thread, it looks crude to anyone unfamiliar with childrens crafts, but he loves it and wears it everywhere.

He prizes pretty much anything and everything he owns in his room, his bed, his blankets, his carpet, his pillows, his tv, his windowshelf and walls, the paintings and crayon drawings hanging on the walls, the fancy mirror left from his parents, the blocks and toys he keeps in his drawers. It’s all important to him, and he loves and cherishes it all very much.

He also considers Michael and Cain ‘prized possessions’, maybe they aren’t particularly posessions, but Lucius mind is simple for him being so young, so he places all important things together in one big pool. And just like all his bedroom furniture, artwork and other items, he loves both Cain and Michael, maybe even more so than the things he owns! (Definitely)

10. What is the biggest problem in your life right now?

Link Answered after Contract 8, Solvestrum Castle

Lucius biggest problem right now is likely simply surviving the contracts, and getting stronger, as strong as he can, learning all he can for Cain, and impressing the cult as the next proclaimed leader.

He doesn’t run into much trouble in his day-to-day life, at least not anymore he doesn’t, since he has a wonderful caretaker, good friends, a way to travel and buy new trinkets, a stable homelife and entertainment for days.

-Surviving the contracts, he’s done so particularly well so far, he can’t remember or think of a time where there’s been a close call, he’s strong and capable, and very able to fight for himself and others, so this isn’t a huge problem.

-Getting stronger, despite him already beating out most average people strengthwise, he’s trying his best to train and learn, even in things unrealted to fighting, with the help of cain. He’s learning, even if it’s a slow process.

-Impressing the cult, he knows now that he’ll be the next leader, and due to this he’s trying his absolute best to live up to expectations and even more, focusing greatly on Cain and the members, what they do and what he thinks is expected as him, perhaps he’s even pushing himself too hard this way, human sacrifices and occult magic aren’t particularly recommended for young children to see, but he seems to enjoy being a bigger part of the cults events now it has new members, and others have been..dealt with by Cain.
