Doctor Adrian Blackthorne lives in Cupertino, California. It is a quiet enough suburb. He lives there because despite the high cost of living and high-stress environment at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, he makes enough money to pay the bills and the intellectual stimulation is rewarding.
