"Jax Max" lives in Tokyo were he is best able to perform with his Taiko Drum group on a regular basis.  He has earned a reputation for being a very good player and loves his job.

He was born in Japan to a Japanese mother, and an American father.  They imbued in him a love of the arts and cultural traditions.

Jax knew he wanted to be a drummer the day his parents took him to a festival in the spring time.  The performance was perfect and the drums reverberated through the crowd.  It was this moment he decided to work to make his fellow friends happy and enrich the lives of any who would watch him.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

Jax earns money as a traveling musician.  Him and his Taiko Drum group, called the Thunder Roll, across the world.  Jax has traveled to many places and visited many countries.

Jax is the lead drummer for the Thunder Rollers.  They've performed in concert halls and festivals; from Japan, Europe, Russia, and America.  Jax has also worked as musician for theater, movie and video games.

His performances and also exciting and full of energy, as if he's trying to broadcast his joyful mood to the audience.  His performances always have some sort of acrobatics and he's not afraid of drawing inspiration from other cultures when he's looking for something new to experiment with.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Link Answered before Jax Maxwell's first Contract.

To bring joy, true, lasting, joy, to people.  A seemingly simple ambition, and not something that is easily carried out.  Many things get in the way of a person's joy.  Whether it's health, money, or even basic needs.  For Jax, this is a very spiritual duty he's trying to carry out.

False joy, is a pit fall trap that should be avoided.  Things like drugs and alcohol, while do seem to give a person joy, it's temporary and will eventually burn a person out.  Also things that may facilitate the joy of one at the expense of another are a no go.

The only time Jax would kill another is to prevent the death of another person, and that is something he may sacrifice himself for.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Link Answered before Jax Maxwell's first Contract.

There are many defining moments in a person's life.  One was spoken about earlier with the festival were he was inspired to become a Taiko drummer.  However, the biggest one was the first show were he was the lead drummer.  It some something about the crowd.  He put his entire being into that performance, and he could feel the crowd giving it back to him afterwards.  He felt alive!  The silence that followed as the echos of the drums rolled through the concert hall was stunning.

To this day, Jax regards that as his personal best performance, despite others saying he's only improved since then.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

Yuka - The Thunder Rollers's agent.  She's always looking and digging around for the next gig.  She's a well organized machine and is always professional.  Just don't get on her bad side.  She'll go full blown sadist on your ass in a heartbeat.

San Hoe - The female member of the Thunder Rollers.  She's able to hold her own in a bar fight, and plays nearly as well as Jax.  She can also drink anyone under the table, and is nearly as loud as the drums she plays.

Xin - The last member of the Thunder Rollers, and is always ready to play.  He's got an infectious laugh, and serves as the group comedian when they're not playing.  He does sometimes push his jokes a bit too far however, but San is always ready to put him back in his place.

All these people are important to Jax, because without them, the Thunder Rollers wouldn't exist.

6. How was your childhood? Who were your parents? What were they like? Did you attend school? If so, did you fit in? If not, why not?

Jax's dad was an American Soldier stationed in Japan.  Mom was a Japanese native.  Dad was in his last deployment for his current contract round, and was planning on staying in until he met Mom.  Long Story short, Dad didn't renew his contract, married Mom, stayed in Japan, and shortly after Jax was born.

While he was made fun of in school for only being half Japanese, Jax's sense of humor quickly made him popular.  "Jax to the MAX" was his tag line, and his endless optimism was boundless.  While Jax may not have been the best at everything, his can-do attitude pushed his fellow classmates to do their best

By the time Jax's class graduated, they were a close knit group of friends.  Even the delinquent students would stand up for Jax, as he would always try to do the right thing by everyone he met.  Even if that person didn't seem to deserve it.

7. Have you ever been in love? With who? What happened? If not, why not?

Jax has been in many relationships, but they haven't lasted long.  Jax is busy traveling the world and satisfied with his current string of one-night-stands. Definitely a girlfriend in every port kind of guy at the moment.

Jax did have a girlfriend in highschool, but they went their sperate ways after highschool, and they haven't really kept up with each other since.  Jax simply isn't ready for any sort of long term, committed relationship yet.

Maybe one day, when he's ready to settle down, he'll get serious about getting a wife, having kids, getting a family dog, etc.  But that isn't today.
