They live in Wuppertal, a midsized German city that's not really got anything going for it. They've got a maglev train an elephant once fell out of. Johanna basically lives there because nothing much ever happens there and she's mostly left to her own devices. She lives in an average single family home, with white walls and a big garage for tinkering. Once children's laughter could be heard here, but that is a bygone era. Her home has old timey beige wallpaper and basically the same furniture her parents had in it when she was born. She only lives here because she still clings to the memories she made here (and because she owns it and doesn't have to worry about rent).
I mostly get money by taking jobs customizing their cars. Nothing big and mostly self-employed. Always boring shit like "I want car doors that open upwards" or "make it so my headlights can change colors, you know, those rgb things". No, I don't know and I honestly felt better about life before I knew about it. And then there's the leftover money from life insurance and inheritance which bolsters up my income. I don't spend a ton of money, currently more so going for buying used cars and bringing them up to speed (after I had to sell one on a contract). Also on electronics that I need for my side projects.
