Donra's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Link Answered before Donra's first Contract.

I live in a small city that’s so unremarkable, most people just call it "Forgotten City." It’s a place where those with nowhere else to go end up, a strange mix of young and old, but you rarely see children here. There's no school anyway. Friendships are scarce; people usually walk alone unless they’re in a bar or restaurant. As for me, I mostly keep to myself, only venturing out for food, drinks, or weed. I also enjoy training in the nearby mountains. There’s a secret spot I’ve found with a small pond where I like to swim after working out.

Even in this small city, you have to be careful. There’s always someone lurking in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity. It’s common to hear screams at night, gunshots, and the roar of car races. This place is a refuge for those escaping their pasts, so almost anything can happen here. The police force is more of a group of people who craved order and took it upon themselves to enforce it. To me, they’re just lost souls looking for something to do, many of them itching for a fight, armed and ready.

I stay here because people mind their own business. Sure, there are fights, and while I try to avoid them, I can’t deny the thrill when they do happen. There’s a certain peace in the chaos, an anarchy where there’s no law or hierarchy. We’re all equal, defined not by money or connections, but by our actions. I stay for the sense of freedom and the genuine people I meet in this lawless haven. <3

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

Link Answered before Donra's first Contract.

I earn my money through a mix of arcane knowledge and practical skills. My main job involves using my deep understanding of the dark arts and mystical creatures. I take on contracts and jobs that require handling or disposing of dangerous beasts, uncovering ancient artifacts, and dealing with curses or supernatural phenomena. My expertise in these areas makes me a valuable asset to those in need of specialized help, and they pay handsomely for my services.

Additionally, I accept various contracts from individuals and organizations, ranging from gathering rare ingredients for potions to protecting VIPs from otherworldly threats. My work often involves high stakes and dangerous situations, but the rewards are worth it.

As for spending, most of my money goes towards maintaining and enhancing my abilities. I invest in rare tomes and magical artifacts to expand my knowledge and power. I also spend on essential supplies like potions, enchanted weapons, and protective gear. Given the nature of my work, I need to stay prepared for any eventuality.

A portion of my earnings goes towards maintaining my hidden sanctum (depto), a place where I can rest, study, and prepare for upcoming tasks. This includes paying for wards and spells to keep it secure. I also indulge in a few personal luxuries when I can—fine wines, quality food, and the occasional piece of rare, mystical art. Despite the dangers, I find a certain satisfaction in my work and the life it allows me to lead.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Link Answered before Donra's first Contract.

My ambition is singular and all-consuming: to become a master of the dark arts and the most knowledgeable expert on mystical creatures. This path is not just about power, but about understanding the deepest secrets of the arcane and harnessing their potential. I strive to unlock knowledge that has been lost or hidden for centuries, to command forces that few even believe exist.

To achieve this, I am willing to go to great lengths. My journey has already taken me to the darkest corners of the world, and I have faced unspeakable horrors in my quest for knowledge. The pursuit of mastery demands sacrifices, and I have made many. If killing is necessary, I will not hesitate. In the world of the arcane, morality is often a luxury one cannot afford. The dark arts demand a heavy price, and I am prepared to pay it, whether it means taking a life or saving one.

I have come close to death many times, and I know that my quest will bring me to the brink again. But the knowledge and power I seek are worth the risk. Each encounter with death is a reminder of my mortality and a test of my resolve. I would face death head-on, embracing the danger if it brings me closer to my goal.

My ambition drives me forward relentlessly. Every spell learned, every creature studied, every ancient artifact uncovered brings me one step closer to mastering the dark arts. I will not stop until I have achieved this, no matter the cost.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Link Answered before Donra's first Contract.

The most defining event of my life occurred during a mission that forever altered my path. I was hired to retrieve an ancient tome rumored to contain forbidden knowledge of the dark arts, hidden deep within the ruins of an old, forgotten temple. The journey was perilous, filled with traps and mystical guardians designed to keep intruders at bay. But it wasn't the physical dangers that defined this mission—it was what awaited me at the heart of the temple.

As I reached the chamber where the tome was kept, I encountered an ancient, malevolent entity guarding the knowledge. A confrontation was inevitable, and despite my skills, I was no match for the sheer power of this entity. In the ensuing struggle, it drained a portion of my strength and, more devastatingly, stripped away some of my most precious memories. I lost fragments of my past, pieces of my identity, and a part of my power, leaving me weakened and scarred.

This event changed me profoundly. The loss of my strength and memories left me feeling vulnerable and exposed, but it also fueled a deeper hunger for knowledge and mastery. The encounter taught me the harsh reality of the dark arts—the power I sought was dangerous and came with a heavy price. It was a stark reminder of my mortality and the perilous nature of my quest.

Despite the setbacks, this experience hardened my resolve. I realized that the pursuit of lost knowledge required not only skill but also an unyielding determination to face the unknown. It pushed me to become more cautious, more strategic in my approach, and to value the fragments of knowledge I still possessed. The loss became a driving force, a reminder of the stakes involved in my journey.

Ultimately, this defining event shaped me into who I am today—a relentless seeker of arcane truths, undeterred by the risks and sacrifices. It taught me that true mastery of the dark arts demands resilience, and it solidified my commitment to my path. The scars I carry, both physical and mental, are a testament to my unwavering pursuit of the forbidden and the strength I’ve gained through my struggles.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

1. Selene "The Seer" Evernight: Selene is the person I'm closest to. She is a powerful sorceress with a profound connection to the arcane and a deep understanding of mystical creatures. Selene and I met during a mission to uncover an ancient artifact, and our shared passion for the dark arts forged an unbreakable bond between us. She has an enigmatic presence, with piercing blue eyes that seem to see through the veil of reality. Selene has guided me through some of the darkest moments of my life, offering wisdom and support. Her vast knowledge and intuitive understanding of the mystical world have been invaluable in my quest for mastery.

2. Thorne "The Shadow" Blackwood: Thorne is my older brother and the only family I have left. Once a formidable warrior, he now serves as a mercenary for hire, using his combat skills to protect and serve those who can afford his services. Thorne and I have a complicated relationship; while we care deeply for each other, our paths have diverged significantly. Thorne is practical and grounded, often clashing with my obsession with the dark arts. Despite our differences, he remains a staunch ally, always ready to lend a hand when I’m in trouble. His loyalty and fierce protectiveness have saved me on more than one occasion.

3. Alaric "The Keeper" Greystone: Alaric is a seasoned scholar and the keeper of an extensive library of forbidden knowledge. He was once a mentor to me, teaching me the fundamentals of the dark arts and guiding me in my early explorations of the mystical world. Alaric is a recluse, rarely venturing out of his library, which is hidden in a remote, desolate location. His age and countless years of studying ancient texts have made him wise but also wary. While he no longer actively practices magic, his vast repository of knowledge is a treasure trove for someone like me. Though our interactions are infrequent, his counsel is always profound and enlightening.
