3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Link Answered after Contract 3, Where's my Water?

From a young age I was trained by the Iron Syndicate to be one thing and one thing only: an Assassin.

I was the trained as a successor by

Reform the Assassin's Guild.

After the tragedy, Kael was left to fend for himself on the streets. His skills in stealth and survival quickly caught the attention of the Iron Syndicate, one of the city’s most notorious factions. Recognizing his potential, the guild took him in and began training him in the deadly arts of assassination.

The Iron Syndicate was renowned for its ruthless efficiency and its code of silence. It was a place where ambition and skill were highly valued, but where morality was often twisted to suit the guild's ends. Kael excelled in his training, becoming one of their most promising operatives. Yet, even as he became skilled in the ways of the assassin, he struggled with the guild's morally ambiguous activities. His parents' death had given him a clear sense of right and wrong, and the brutal actions of the Iron Syndicate conflicted deeply with his growing inner conflict.

A Turning Point:

Years of working for the guild gave Kael a front-row seat to the corruption and manipulation that the Iron Syndicate wielded over the city. He saw firsthand how their actions perpetuated a cycle of violence and suffering, and how the guild's power was maintained through fear and oppression.

One fateful mission changed everything for Kael. He was ordered to eliminate a whistleblower who had planned to expose the guild's operations. As he followed the target, he discovered that the whistleblower was a former member of the Iron Syndicate who had turned against the guild after realizing its true nature. The whistleblower’s pleas for mercy and his revelation about the guild’s darkest secrets shook Kael to his core.

The Plan for Reform:

Determined to change the guild from within, Kael began to secretly gather like-minded members within the Iron Syndicate—those who, like him, had begun to question the guild’s methods and longed for redemption. He worked tirelessly to subvert the guild’s operations from the inside, using his position and influence to subtly shift their objectives towards less destructive goals.

Kael’s ambition was to dismantle the Iron Syndicate’s criminal empire and transform it into a force for justice and protection. He envisioned a guild that would use its skills to combat tyranny and oppression rather than perpetuate it. This vision was risky, requiring him to navigate a complex web of intrigue and betrayal, all while maintaining the guise of loyalty to the guild.

Climax and Transformation:

Kael’s efforts culminated in a dramatic confrontation with the Iron Syndicate’s leaders. As he executed a carefully planned coup, he revealed the guild’s darkest secrets to its members, exposing the corruption and manipulation that had plagued them. Through a combination of strategic skill and persuasive rhetoric, Kael managed to win over a significant portion of the guild, leading to a dramatic shift in leadership.

With the old guard removed, Kael and his allies reformed the Iron Syndicate into a new organization dedicated to fighting against the very injustices they had once perpetuated. The guild's resources were redirected towards aiding the oppressed, eliminating genuine threats to peace, and upholding a code of ethics that Kael had crafted.

Ambition: To reform a notorious or corrupt assassin’s guild, turning it into a force for good or a respected institution.

  • Impact: Changing the perception of assassins and using their skills for positive change or balanced justice.
