Digby is from the Spring Blossom Landfill of New Jersey but for his people this is their reservation. He was raised there and learned survivalist skills, scrapping abilities and the art of "one man's trash is another man's treasure". He enjoyed having a close knit group of friends while he lived at the reservation but this unfortunately did not last after the "great closure". It was an unbelievable and unexpected day when the eviction notices finally went out. This was his home but the landfill was finally deemed too full and was closed down, causing his family and friends to be scattered to various places, making him a wanderer. Currently he resides in Colorado with Ted Turner in their trailer.
Digby obtains his money from selling scrap, doing contracts and odd jobs. He will often scroll through Craigslist and offer any and all services (within reason) that will help him to earn a buck. He is not particularly well off and isn't very business minded but he understands the value of a dollar and will try his best to do an honest days work where needed to help himself and those he cares about. He is often good at general handyman tasks since he spent much of his youth repurposing and fixing things, making him a cheap and efficient alternative to more expensive, established (and insured) handyman businesses.
Digby is a regular person who wants all the things that we typically all do. He wants safety, security, family and friends. His life was one that felt safe, secure and full of love and care, but that changed when his entire tribe was disbanded. He is not ignorant to the fact that a "garbage-person" may seem humorous or not to be taken seriously, but rest assured that this means a lot to him and those that he grew up with. His ultimate goal is to help create a new home for his people, he is unsure if this will be on land or in sea. He will see where this wild journey of contracts takes him with his skills and see what is possible. In his wildest dreams he would be able to terraform debris and trash into entire cities and villages for his people, but he knows this idea is far-fetched. His ultimate ambition is find a new home for his people.
For Digby it was the day that everything was shaken up in his life and his seemingly stable existence was turned in it's head. His family and people settled into the landfill with the thought that it would sustain everyone and their needs as well as cause no harm to the "civilized" world outside and not bother anyone from there. When the landfill was finally deemed full, closed down and covered over to be land reserved for endless burning methane as the earth slowly swallowed it back up, he was filled with determination and deep sadness as he saw everyone he ever knew going their own ways. He was dead set from that point on to find a new place for the people he grew up with and he will stop at nothing to achieve this.
