Amias lives in a beautiful apartment in Puerto Rico where she spends her time painting, sculpting, and the such. Her house is away from the city, with quite a distance away by foot. The interior of her home is painted in rich greens and yellows, with massive sturdy windows which during the mornings lights the room in a beautiful glow. There are a lot of flower decorations, no actual flowers unfortunately, such as the wallpaper, statues, or the engravings on door frames. The floor of the house and the kitchen are all made out of a rich dark wood.
The inside of her room is quite simple. There's a soft bed which clearly looks to be expensive, a massive bookcase filled to the brim on the wall, many paintings (of her own artwork and others), as well as a wardrobe. Her entire house could be summarized as a mix of "art deco" and "dark academia."
Amias is actually quite well travelled! She has been to many places but has never looked to move away from her home country, Puerto Rico. She loves the place there, the people, the food, and it's familiar to her. She likes seeing what the world has to offer but she's satisfied with where she is now.
Amias gets her money from selling her artworks! She has an extremely good grasp of anatomy and colour which makes her sculptures look lifelike and her paintings beautifully cohesive. She considers herself lucky that she was able to make a living off of doing what she loves. While not quite well-known outside of local circles of in the western space, she's quite accomplished.
She usually spends her money on cute clothes or more materials. Making art is very expensive so that's where most of her budget goes. When she can, she tries to buy herself a cute dress or maybe even a nice frilly blouse to wear.
Amias has been interested in the human anatomy since she was young, curious on how evolution decided on which parts to keep, which to discard. She was fascinated by how poorly the human body was built but also surprised by how humanity had survived through their ingeniousness. However, she has a theory that the human body and the soul are inherently connected. That humanity's collective soul is marred and twisted in some way for our bodies to be like this. Amias wants to morph the human body beyond repair to reveal the soul, to free it from the cage we call a human body. She believes suffering and despair can release our souls.
Amias has tested her theory on some test subjects and believes that it may hold some truth. She believes that the ends justify the means and that if she can help humanity free themselves and reach eternal salvation at the cost of her damnation, so be it.
She will die on this, in fact, she expects to die. To be freed from your mortal shell you must die so she expects no different when she does the same.
The most defining moment of Amias' life is the time she spent with her art teacher. Amias was a lonely girl who's only salvation was through the lord or church so she didn't have a lot of friends. While her parents were present in her life they didn't connect with her emotionally, leaving very stilted talks, awkward conversations, and the such. Her parents cared more about keeping a good reputation and thought she should do the same as well. Her art teacher provided her support, helped her practice and acted as a second mother towards her. Her art teacher had then persuaded her to join an art competition which she wasn't onfident about, and she agreed. Amias won, and this kick started Amias' career.
Ellis Tran (they/them) | Crush
Ellis was someone Amias had meet during her travels. She's infatuated with them. They have some common interests in art, books, and the such. Ellis really brought her out her shell and she finds them so sweet, gentle, kind and patient with her. She currently has some internal conflict about whether she should help release them from their mortal shell or have them do it to her. She wants Ellis to be the one to kill her but even she knows that's a little fucked up.
Sofia Martínez (she/her) | Mother-figure
Sofia was Amias' art teacher in high school and also her mother-figure (given that her actual mother didn't do much). She helped Amias gain confidence, taught her things a mother would, helped start her art career, and is the person Amias would say changed her life for the better the most. Sofia died two years ago because of health complications and Amias attended her funeral. Amias still feels choked up about it and even more so when it was revealed Sofia's will that she left her art works and art materials to her.
Pastor Edward Diaz (he/him) | Pastor
Pastor Edward Diaz is someone Amias looked to for guidance during throughout her life. He helped her during tough situations and her emotional issues. While maybe not on purpose, he was the one who opened her eyes to the idea of a soul and body and what she could do. When she confessed that she thought that she may have to do something bad to help people, he was the one who convinced her that it was her choice and that she must weigh the answer. Maybe he sparked the fire, but she poured gasoline on it.
