Sulwyn Llafnau's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Link Answered before Sulwyn Llafnau's first Contract.

Can't recall the street, but it's an apartment... though now that I think about it, it's more of a condominium rather than an apartment... anyways, I chose to live here as it's near enough to my college that I can simply walk there. Saves me a bit of money as I don't need to use up the gas in my motorcycle. The condominium itself is located in a nicer part of the city, a bedroom and bathroom, with the living room pulling triple duty as the kitchen and dining room. It was already furnished when I got here, though the bedroom is where my PC is set up, had my parents ship some other stuff from my bedroom across the pond, luckily enough nothing was broken when it was being shipped. After unpacking what they sent the condo looks more lived in now to say the least.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

Link Answered before Sulwyn Llafnau's first Contract.

Work part-time as a mechanic in an auto-repair shop nearby, alongside my parents sending me some money to help me get through the month. As for what I spend it on... mostly the necessities. Like food, bills, and taxes. Though when I save enough cash to ensure I have enough to pay for the necessities, it's either spent on computer parts, or my growing collection of medieval armaments. I'd like to buy a gun sometime soon, visited the range every so often, had fun shooting targets. Oh! I also started a collection on those gunpla models, more expensive than I initially thought, but they look nice the shelf in my bedroom.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Link Answered before Sulwyn Llafnau's first Contract.

... Honestly... having to do my societal obligations... responsibilities... they get tiring. Fast. A lot of the time I just wish I could stay at home, reading up on history or mythology, learning how to forge things out of metal so I can expand on my medieval armaments collections on my own! I'm sure I'd be able to save up more money by making my own things rather than having to buy them or pay someone else to make it!

... How far would I go to achieve it? My ambitions?

... Would I kill for it...? I... I'm not sure. Maybe? I'd... maybe prefer if I could achieve it without bloodshed... but... I'd think my parents would support me, they're... kinda weird in all honesty...

Death? Preferably I'd never have to meet the reaper, but considering your question on murder... I'm sure I'd be able to survive. Mom and Dad didn't raise someone who'd fall over and die that easily.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Link Answered before Sulwyn Llafnau's first Contract.

... I recall going camping with my Dad and Uncle this one time, wanting to show me how to hunt the old fashioned way, bows and arrows, the odd blade here or there. When humanity didn't have it easy with firearms.

It was a weekend trip, we'd be hunting deer. It was mostly quiet, Uncle Olwen would often tell tales of his and Dad's childhood around the campfire when we had to set up camp for the night. Dad looked exasperated with Uncle Olwen bringing up embarrassing history, certainly made Dad spill the beans on embarrassing things that happened to Uncle Olwen in the past. I enjoyed the stories.

... during the last day of the hunt, encountered a brown bear of all things. I'd... rather not get into the gruesome details, but I ended up killing the bear via chopping off its head. Dad had it turned into a mantle piece, still hung above the fireplace to this day! Uncle Olwen... he's alive, but he lost his arm... Kinda feel responsible, but he keeps on telling me that it wasn't my fault... they turned it into a story of how I helped save Uncle Olwen from the bear... try to make a bad memory into a better one. It... helps.

How did it change me? It certainly made me more wary of nature, that's for sure! Haven't... gone out hunting for sometime now since then. Scared? Not... not really, just worried 'is all. I'd certainly be able to put the beast down faster than when I was younger at least.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

Link Answered before Sulwyn Llafnau's first Contract.

My Dad Gareth, looks like me, or I look a lot like him, except he's got blond hair instead of red. Share his eye color too. Apparently his nickname as a kid was "Sunny" due to his... well, blond hair and amber eyes. Started growing a beard recently, so my Mom says, thinks it makes him look more... rugged, charming. My Mom on the other hand seems to roll her eyes at the Old Man's decision. Says it covers up too much of the face she loves. Taught me everything I know in terms of medieval weapons, especially on how to wield them.

My Mom Erin, I get my hair color from her. Kinda tall herself, probably just a few inches below me and my Dad's eyes. Taught me everything I know about firearms. They make for a weird couple at times, weirder parents. Definitely weird to tell your kid how best to bury a body. I'm sure they haven't done any crimes... Anyways, also taught me how to be self-sufficient, knew I was gonna "leave the nest" so to say. Those lessons certainly help keep the condo clean and tidy. Dad loves Mom to death, would definitely beat the shit out of the grim reaper if it meant they could continue living with each other even after they grow old and wrinkly.

Do pets count? I had this wolf-dog back home, basically grew up with her, surprised but glad she's still alive even to this day. Found her when I was exploring the forest we decided to camp out in, she was a little pup then, picked her up and brought her to my parents. Begged them to keep her. Using both my own figurative puppy eyes and little Rhian's puppy eyes, what I ended up naming her, my parents folded and she came home with us the day after.

As for who I'm closest to... my parents tie with one another, so I guess Rhian. I have siblings, and though we're close... Rhian beats them. Definitely. She acts like a Siberian Husky when my brothers and sisters try to get her to behave, but she acts all disciplined when I ask her to behave. Damn sure my siblings were a tad miffed at that, they definitely tried bribing her with treats. Oh, she took those treats, didn't make her listen to them any better though!

6. How was your childhood? Who were your parents? What were they like? Did you attend school? If so, did you fit in? If not, why not?

Link Answered after Contract 1, Infinity minus One

Childhood was fine, growing up with... as many siblings as I have would certainly give you a different... outlook in life. I've already spoke about my parents when discussing about who I was close to. Dad's name is Gareth, Mom's name is Erin. They're weirdos themselves, but weird in a... good way? They're certainly caring and attentive parents. Don't recall them ever showing favoritism to any of us growing up, if I had to wager a guess... their favorite was probably our pet wolf-dog, Rhian. But then again Rhian was everyone's favorite so that's to be expected.

As for School... yeah, I attended School, I wouldn't be in college if I didn't. I mostly kept to myself, got picked on on the occasion but always fought back. Got in trouble for it but Mom and Dad always stood by my side when such things ever happened. Soon enough I got picked on less and less seeing as I was someone willing to fight back and whose parents berated the teachers instead of me when they found out there's some issues with bullying.

7. Have you ever been in love? With who? What happened? If not, why not?

Link Answered after Contract 1, Infinity minus One

Nope. Never had time for it, was always a studious little boy back then. Focused so much on school rather than my social life, or what amounted to my social life. And now in college... I have even less time for romance. You think I'd have time for such things with deadlines for projects and assignments keeping my head buried in the books? Ha! What a joke, and even if I had time for such things... I don't recall anyone I'd have found romantic interest in. Might blame my Dad for that, or my ancestor, apparently the men in our family have a type. A woman who can kick your ass. And so far, at least in my college, none of the girls there really... fill out the criteria. So I'll likely stay single for a bit longer... probably even after I graduate. Well, not like Mom has to worry about not getting grandkids considering how many siblings I have.

8. What are your worst fears? Why?

Link Answered after Contract 2, Beware the Assassin!

I... honestly don't think I have much in the way of worst fears... At least fears that aren't rational, I'd like to consider any fear of mine being completely rational. Like for example... getting stuck in the middle of the ocean, that'd just mean death. And not a quick one at that! It'd be a slow death, from thirst then starvation, or I'd get eaten by some creature from the depths. It's a completely rational fear to have!

... on that, I think I fear the prolonging of cruelty or pain. If you're gonna get rid of me, then just get rid of me, no need to make it slow or agonizing. I also really don't like atrocities, the sight of them makes me sick, and the idea of being forced to commit such crimes myself... fills me with dread. Again, I'd prefer things to just be quick with it, the longer any process is, the more painful it'll likely be.

... I think the only real phobia, irrational fear, I have is Nosocomephobia, the fear of hospitals... I understand those places should be... comforting? at least not utterly distressing, but my mind can't help but conjure every bad possibility involving hospitals. Going from the mundane to the downright fantastical.

9. What is (are) your most prized possession(s)? What makes it (them) so special?

Link Answered after Contract 2, Beware the Assassin!

Prior to Neo-Genis? I'd say this old sketchbook I had growing up, it's kept back home in the house I grew up in. As for why... it showed how much I grew in terms of my skills in drawing, showed me how far I progressed every time I opened it to see my old sketches.

But my prized possession since joining Neo-Genis? Has to be the black ring I have, why wouldn't I like it? It's a ring that turns into a shotgun! For a firearms enthusiast like me? I'd kill to have something this cool in real life. It even has infinite ammo! Imagine all the money you could save if you never had to buy bullets ever again!

Makes me wonder how much else it will develop, it's able to shred through armor now, it didn't do that before, so I'm rather curious as to what else this thing can do later down the line... it'd be neat if its shotgun shells were dragonbreath shells, a veritable flamethrower in the shape of a shotgun!

10. What is the biggest problem in your life right now?

Link Answered after Contract 3, Thrilla in Manilla

... College. Seriously. College is the source of much of my problems, mostly stress really... Stress and College... the core of any of the problems I might be facing. Been spending less time with friends in general due to being swamped with assignments and tests... and as such, got little time for romance too cause of that. 'parently there was a girl in my engineering class that was interested in me, or so my friend tells me, but with how... lonesome(?)I've been, I'm damn sure that ship has sailed. My parents say they're worried from the messages I'm getting from them, I reply that I'm fine, that I'll be able to march on. I... don't think they're convinced, but they aren't saying anything else.

... Am I just running away from these problems using this VRGame? Maybe... maybe I should take a break, get back into the books and finish some of those assignments. Get more free time and hang out with the buds again.

11. Describe a typical morning. How do you get ready to face the world?

Link Answered after Contract 3, Thrilla in Manilla

Wake Up. Prepare Breakfast. Take a Bath. Eat. Brush my Teeth. Get Changed. Rinse. Repeat. Honestly, my mornings are pretty mundane, not sure what else I'm supposed to say about them. I guess I try to change what sorts of breakfasts I eat? Write up a recipe I find online, stick it to the fridge, and cook what's written on it. You can find some pretty tasty yet healthy recipes if you know where to look, leads to me not needed as much daily exercise... I get enough from my walks between here and school, and the occasional meeting for the HEMA "Historical European Martial Arts" Enthusiasts. Apparently some of them are also playing Neo-Gensis, though I... haven't told them I'm also playing, maybe I should... would definitely mean I can get more friends.

... I should also change up how I look or what I wear in the game, from everyone else I've seen... I think I'm the only one wearing medieval attire and... it's kinda embarrassing? Though the question becomes what I should wear in the first place...

12. If you were going somewhere special that you wanted to look your best for, what would you do to prepare? What would you wear? How long would it take you to get ready?

Link Answered after Contract 4, What to do on a Saturday Night.

... Honestly... I was always a sucker for formal and semi-formal attires. Always found them... aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. A white button-up shirt paired with a black vest and tie, with black trousers and shiny black leather shoes... Though I guess such attires would make me look like a butler, but you do have to admit butlers look good in those outfits. As for how long it would take for me to get ready... a ten-minute bath should be enough, twenty-minutes tops. Was never one to understand how anyone can be in the bath for longer than thirty-minutes unless they were having bowel issues... but... really, a poo would usually only take five to ten minutes except when you're constipated, then I guess you'll be in the bathroom for however long your shit refuses to vacate your stomach. Aside from that, yeah, ten to twenty minutes in the bath, with around five to ten minutes to get into a formal attire if I'm not in a rush.

13. What will you do for your next birthday?

Link Answered after Contract 4, What to do on a Saturday Night.

Probably what I do every year since leaving home. See if any of my friends are free, hit up the nearest club or pub, and get absolutely shit-faced. And if none of my friends are available, then... I just stay at home. It isn't the same. Getting drunk with friends and getting drunk without friends. Much more lonely. And dangerous, definitely more dangerous. Don't have anyone watching your back when you're drunk and alone.

Aside from that, I'll probably receive letters from back home, then I'll send back my own replies thanking for all the well-wishes and happy-birthdays sent my way... I should probably look into if I'd be free enough to visit back home, even if it's just for a week or weekend. Would be good to see my Mom and Dad again, and my siblings. Oh! And see how Rhian is doing, hope the poor dog is doing well.
