Pawn's Questionnaire

I do not live in a town nor a city, the quiet of the wilderness is more appealing to me..it also allows me to expand if any other of my fellow chess-mates fall through to here, it's so odd..I used to not like it when it was quiet on the board, as that meant the battle was usually over, or something horrible had just occurred. I wonder if they gave me any thought when I fell off the board and never reappeared..

My home? It's nothing much, just a small place I built with my limited woodworking skills. It works, though. I even put some nice flowers in front of it! It's a bit rustic, though, as I have heard some players put it, but it's mine, and I like it.

I don't really know how I get my money honestly, It's strange, it seems to appear in my account whenever I teach a passerby about how chess works, it makes me feel good, so I felt that was payment enough. but now I am receiving money, though I don't exactly know what I can spend it on, I'm used to making everything myself or having it given to me, hmm..I know the merchants in the town don't seem to like me, I am not entirely sure why though.

I have mostly just been saving it for a rainy day, or giving it out to those who spend time with me, it reminds me of my time on the board so I am happy to pay for that..

I realized after a while down here..the other pieces aren't coming, so i decided to make my own! I want to become a queen, like the old one i served under..she was someone i looked up to greatly, i am slowly figuring out how to become like her, but its difficult. she holds so much power and i can barely mimic a fraction of it and only for a small amount of time.

I would go to the ends of the earth to become the queen of my own board, I feel like i can do it, but i have some doubts at the same time, I hope I can live up to her name, even if i do die in the process..

My most defining moment huh..? Well, I didn't really serve a purpose on the board other then forming chains with the other pawns so we could advance with everyone behind us protected, that always made us all feel nice. There was a few other moments, like watching the rooks run into others, those are always funny. Or that one time my old queen gave me praise for managing to corner another king! that made me really look up to her, the bishops taught me a few tricks with a bow, but i never really figured out how to use it properly..

The pawns - Us pawn's are usually just fodder for the board, until we are needed to promote, but we all enjoy each others company, after all, we are all the lowest ranking on the board so we aren't given many responsibilities, my old queen and king would let us goof off as much as we wanted.

Old Queen - My old queen was someone i looked up to, she was a pawn like us at one point, but she managed to promote herself after her old queen died, i miss her a lot, I hope i make her proud with my board of pieces!

Rook - Rook's are so fun to hang out with, they are pawns like us but they are given really cool mechs! they look like castle towers but they can shoot cannons out of the side of them and stuff. I never really understood how they work though..
