They grew up in San Francisco close to the Golden Gate Park, deciding to stay there as they grew old enough due to their friends and family being close. Their home is quant, a detached town house with 2 floors, a lower garage area and an attic. Often, Jupiter would stay up in the attic, looking out of the rooftop window through a telescope at the stars. Their parents decorated the house with a maximalist mindset, arranging and injecting any number of nicknacks, ornaments, posters, and plants. A lot of plants. A whole lot of plants. Hanging from the walls, ceilings, potted on the floor - All kinds of different species. There's a real earthy smell throughout the house and Jupiter's mother often lights strategically placed candles to make each room have its own personal scent, always intermingling with the earthy smell to create what could only be described as a living ecosystem within the homestead. There's sometimes a problem with bugs in the house, which Jupiter's mother is okay with - But his father isn't a huge fan. He loves the house, and his wife even more, but the main thing they disagree on is bugs (He's scared of them).
Jupiter's room is adorned with at least 3 aisles at one time because he can never commit to one piece at a time, he always has to work on multiple at once. Additionally, there's a myriad of past paintings on the walls in the room. His parent's favourite paintings are honoured with a hallway spot instead. Often times, Jupiter will paint over old pieces to reuse canvas space. He's not materialistic, and he's no hoarder, so he's more than happy to let go of old pieces in exchange for new.
Often, Jupiter's father can be found in the garage tinkering with any number of materials. He's not so artistic as Jupiter and his mother, as he prefers engineering. To this extent, the garage acts as his workshop. It's usually a cluttered mess and frankly a danger to wander through, but Jupiter's dad is somehow able to navigate it flawlessly.
Jupiter, after turning 16, became a freelance Private Investigator. He began online, legally snooping around company databases and records when they asked him to. He would search for corrupt officials, find who was embezzling funds, trace back calls etc. He lied about his age, saying he was a 20 year old to build rapport and confidence in his services.
Upon turning 18, he advertised to people in the real world to look into suspicious happenings and uncover the truth. He learnt to effectively tail fitness coaches as they went to cheat on their spouse, how to properly track someone through a city, and how to question individuals efficiently on the job. So long as Jupiter got paid, he would always uncover the truth!
Eventually he ran into a group of gangsters while trying to follow a lead and was beat up badly, leading him to no longer rely purely on his martial arts skills. Jupiter purchased an M9 compact and began training with it, and at 19 he's not proficient with handguns.
During his time as a PI, he joined a community called Sleuth Central, a group of people who look into strange occurrences around the world and investigate them.
After a while he was face to face with a harbinger as he came close to a certain mystery to do with the incident at Bobasaurus.
Jupiter usually spends money on painting supplies and Chinese food. But he simply cannot resist the urge to buy trinkets, he just cant shake the feeling that if he doesnt buy the one of a kind item as quick as possible he will lose it.
Jupiter's Ambition comes after his best friend became plagued by Night Terrors, rarely able to sleep and suffering constantly from it. Jupiter was always able to lucid dream and he attempted to sleep by her and ward away the terrors in her sleep by imagining himself dispelling them. However, he soon realised that something wasnt right with her night terrors. When he dreamt with her, he found these night terrors too potent to be natural. When he was hit in the dream, he bruised in real life. And after enough time, one of those nightmare creatures tore Jupiters arm off. When he awoke, his arm was entirely limp - Disabled. He had lost control of it entirely. To make matters worse, he didnt even dispell the night terrors from her mind. She is still to this day plagued by them.
Jupiter now seeks to eradicate night terrors from not only her mind, but every mind. He knows the danger these nightmarish creatures pose to vulnerable individuals, and wants nobody to suffer the same fate as she does. He has a strong sense of justice and is willing to go far to accomplish his goal, even if it means killing people who stand in his way. He's only ever killed once in self defense during a mugging, but he discovered that the act didnt haunt him. He did the right thing, and will continue to do so.
The most defining moment in Jupiter life was the night he lost his arm due to the Night Terror and the subsequent night thereafter. He awoke to his hand alive, moving on its own. It attempted to choke Jupiter to death, but he was able to fend it off. He discovered that his arm now was inhabited by some strange spirit, talking to him in his sleep whilst he dreamt. It always followed him while he lucid dreamt and spoke to him, trying to convince him to do heinous things in the dreamscape. Jupiter now always wears a locked up arm brace and sling, keeping his arm bound tight to his body.
Jupiter had to change his day-to-day life, learning to live with only one arm. He had to learn how to paint with his other hand, how to type, eat, shoot and reload etc. He's pretty comfortable with the change, and has learnt to accept and live with it. He was a novice fighter before, and in an emergency he will unleash his arm and allow it to wreak havoc against an opponent.
'Autumn McMillan' is Jupiter's closest friend, the one plagued by night terrors. She's a writer and inspired Jupiter to start writing. She's always better at writing than him, though. However, lately she's been really struggling mentally due to her night terrors, she's a clinically recognised insomniac and is only sleeping due to an excessive amount of pills.
'Maple Orleans' is Jupiter's mother, a warm and expressive person with a deep love for plant life. She works as a florist in San Francisco. Maple has a love for painting and inspired Jupiter to take it up. They're equally matched in painting skill, they'd say - But so visually different. Whereas Maple's painting is more naturalistic, Jupiter's is more abstract.
'Declan Orleans' is Jupiter's father, a tinkerer that works as an Engineer for the San Francisco power grid. It pays well, and the family lives happily in the heart of the city. Declan has retrofitted the garage of the house into his own workshop, making new wacky inventions and random creations. They're all mechanical, rarely relying on robotics or electrics. Recently, he's been experimenting with Pneumatics and gas powered inventions.
