Spark lives in an outer portion of Cylinder 3. This used to be their parents' living quarters, but now it's theirs. It has a small workshop room attached to it, where Spark performs most of their tinkering work, and where they created The Flame. This is also where they upgrade and create their weapons, as well as their armor weave. They even have a customized space suit and propellant set in here, but it hasn't actually seen use yet. Usually if something like that is needed they'll borrow one - they haven't had time to run the necessary tests to feel quite comfortable taking it out.
Their actual living space is filled mostly with what their parents put in it - they dont care as much about that part of the quarters.
Spark requisitions most of their cash and parts from the C&C tribute that gets collected. Their favorite are bits and bobs from Engineering, or Factory. They know that if Engineering knew that they had used their parts to build The Flame, they would be... less than ecstatic. But that's okay. The Flame is Spark's, and no one else needs to know about it. Aside from The Flame and its upgrades, most of Spark's resources go into improving their operational gear - guns, knife, and their armor weave uniform.
And on customizing their space suit - it's mostly internal stuff, but they're considering doing a paint job, or decals, just... it would be harder to hide who they are, in it.
Spark is trying to unify the ship. They think that not only is it possible to get the different departments working together in their generation if they work hard and kill off the right leaders, they can maybe even lay the ground work for the Forgotten to re-integrate and become useful members of society again, maybe in a few generations. To pay off their debt to the rest of the rest of the Odysseus for what they did. Lord knows by surviving this long out there, they've shown they're hardy enough to be a help.
The hard part will be making sure that C&C, and their Enforcers, are still at the top of the pecking order when the dust settles.
The Flame, of course.
Or, well, perhaps we should start with their parents deaths. They were fighting off a raid from The Forgotten. They saved the Factory workers, but died from their wounds before they could be treated. That was when Spark decided maybe Enforcers were needed after all. Their parents had been trying to train them, mostly unsuccessfully. They only enjoyed tinkering, but... that wasn't what they were born into. After their parents died, Spark was lonely, and afraid. It took years of work, but they created The Flame.
A full fledged AI implanted in their brain, to help them with combat and maneuvering tasks. Since then, they've been almost five times as effective in their role as an enforcer, and have begun receiving covert operation missions from C&C.
This is what they mean when they say the ship should re-integrate. Imagine if every enforcer was empowered to find their own path to success, as Spark did, instead of just following a standardized training regimen...
The Flame.
A full AI created to help Spark with everything that their parents no longer could. Training Regimen, Firearms usage, knowledge base, and, of course, companionship. They're currently working on an upgrade to it that will even allow it to interface with The Odysseus' systems, to allow Spark to bypass any mechanized trouble that might get thrown their way. Currently, it just has regular database access, and doesn't connect externally. Spark has a dataport in the back of their head that allows them to update The Flame's OS and improve its functions.
Jinx.
Another enforcer, usually paired with Spark for their covert ops. A demolitions and explosives expert, but quite good with a silenced pistol as well - and always has a giant pack for hauling back the supplies they "recover".
Dae.
Factory. A friend, sort of. Spark has stolen many blueprints and parts from them, as well as some of their texts on how to do their job. Dae probably doesn't know about it, but Spark feels bad that Dae is nice to them, so they give Dae special treatment when they come for tribute.
Spark's childhood was a difficult one. Child of two enforcers, both of whom were not great at what they did, and both of whom wanted Spark to follow in their footsteps. Spark was... severely uninterested in that plan, when they were young. They were always tinkering and making strange little gadgets and things. This was frowned upon by their parents, who thought it was wasted time not learning how to fight. They put Spark through many training programs with other enforcers, but Spark just... didn't click with it. It wasn't until their parents died that Spark decided to follow their path after all - but in their own unique way. Spark started experimenting with AIs, and experimental weapons. After years of work, and quite a few explosions, Spark created an AI. At first it was housed outside of their body, and Spark fed it all of the training that they could never quite get.
Then they implanted it in their brain. Lessons: Learnt.
Spark has had crushes before, and felt attraction of various types. They have not felt "Love", however. Some of the other Enforcers that trained with them would likely suggest this was because Spark is unlovable themselves. Spark disagrees, however. They think that being unlovable has nothing to do with whether or not they would feel love for others. The real problem is that to love someone, and let them love you, you have to commit to them. You have to accept that they will have your back. You have to hope that they won't die doing something stupid. And Spark isn't capable of that.
