Jack lives in an abandoned cloning facility in Cylinder 4, close to the travel hub. Jack sorta just woke up one day, and he was the only one there. Jack doesn't know why he was made, or who made him, but he knows he's an artificial human, grown in a tube, for some unknown purpose.
The only thing that would give him a clue to his purpose is he was born knowing two languages, Spine and Trade. Jack knows Spine is the language of The Forgotten. This was taught to him in the memory download he received while gestating.
Anything beyond that is an unknown. So a good start may be to find a Forgotten hide out.
Jack doesn't have a specified resource allotment from The Odysseus, so he makes due by stealing what he needs from others. He's pretty good at it, and when he's found, he's even better at running away.
Jack currently is still living inside the cloning facility he was born/made in, but he really doesn't have much of an attachment to the place. He's ready to move at a moment's notice, and get out at the first sign of trouble.
Jack currently spends most of his resources on maintaining his gear, and making escape routes throughout The Odysseus. It never hurts to be prepared.
Jack wants to be the big guy in charge one day. To do that he would need to replace The Admiral. If the man even exists. First Jack needs to verify the man/women/thing even exists.
If it took killing The Admiral to supplant him, then Jack would, but Jack doesn't like killing to begin with. It's messy, it leaves a trail, it pisses people off, and paints a target on his back.
Jack has always been a bit of a coward. If there's a fight, Jack would rather avoid it, than confront it. That's just how Jack handles tough situations, by absolutely trying not to step in it in the first place, or by exposing himself as little as possible.
Jack's most defining moment came shortly after he was born. Jack hadn't oriented himself to the Odysseus yet, and started wandering deeper into Cylinder Four. That's when Jack saw something...Jack wasn't sure what it was, but Jack was damned sure it wasn't human.
Jack's instincts told him to run, so he did. Ever since then, Jack has been a bit of a coward. Always opting to run away rather than stand his ground. This single incident shortly after he was born, instilled an abundance of caution into Jack. Jack's head is always on a swivel while he's outside his home.
There isn't a specific figure in Jack's life currently that's he's attached too, well one that isn't living in the traditional since. The only one Jack really talks too on a regular basis is the cloning facility's rouge, out dated, artificial intelligence, TCU.

Or just Tookoo for short. The AI model is limited in what it can talk about as most of its functions are related to the facility it occupies, but that's to say it's not curious about other subjects. It has spent a great deal of time alone, and unfortunately, it doesn't seem to know why Jack was created either. At least, that's what Tookoo claims. It just received an order to make a new clone, the first order in a long time, and carried it out.
Tookoo was happy to be of service again, and have someone to talk to.
Jack tries to bring Tookoo upgrades, and new information when he can.
