Lyle Jaxson's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Lyle lives on a rooftop apartment in the tried and true city of London. It's not the fanciest place by any means but it's quiet enough and secure enough that he doesn't frequently get many unwanted visitors.
The place is cheap enough for him to live within his means and most importantly the access to the rooftop gives him complete dominion over the city nights. He's no master thief yet by any means but the ability to run across the rooftops, leap from building to building as the night sky shines behind him brings him a certain joy.
One day perhaps he might move out, but until he truly masters his craft that will be a long time coming.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

It's not honest work but it pays.

Lyle spends his off-time running petty thefts. Whether it's grabbing gems from a jewellery store or borrowing a family heirloom in a burglary he makes what little he can from his thefts. There's a fine balance between making a living and notoriety, one day he wants to reach the heights of his field but until he has the skills to back it up remaining under the radar was the only sensible decision.

What little he does gather from day-to-day the majority of it gets drained by rent and food but where he has some to spare Lyle likes to upgrade his equipment and buy some records.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Lyle's ambition is to defy the impossible, to steal the most heavily guarded treasures from the rich and shove them into the throws of despair.

It would be a lie to say he wasn't bitter about his upbringing, his family had never been particularly wealthy and if it wasn't for fuckers like that maybe he would have never had to fall into a life like this. Maybe he could have gone to University, got a normal job but no.

His cause rings true in his heart and Lyle would push himself to his limits to accomplish it, through stress and anguish he will power forwards to get what he needs to get done.

Killing is by no means his penchant but if the wrong person got in his way he would do what had to be done. Whether it risked himself it mattered little, he was a man of principle and what he stood for what last even after his death.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Lyle's life was changed for good when his mother passed.

When the failing government of England swayed by greed and wants drove the country into the ground it made the country worse for everyone. Necessities were more expensive, life was harder but what impacted his family most was how it hit his parents.

Whether it was the stress of funding the family or simply the pressure of it all his mother couldn't take it. Her health deteriorated day by day and with the defunded medical care in the country she received no where the treatment she required to make a proper recovery.

It was a slow and bitter death, her life fading with each passing day and the Lyle's spite against the country itself only increased every passing day. A spite that would rest in his heart for the foreseeable future.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

Jackson Jaxson - Jackson is Lyle's Father and has raised him from Birth. He's not perfect as no man is but when his mother died he was a great support to Lyle, always doing what he could to support their family no matter the weight of the burden.

Everest Wesley - Everest is Lyle's supplier for tools and weapons for his day-to-day career. Though he's no spectacular underworld contact or anything of the sort when it comes to sourcing mundane items like lockpicking sets or a few knives here and there he's always reliable.

Taylor Darien - One of Lyle's closest friends they grew up in a poorer area of London together. They haven't always met eye to eye on things as they've grown but one way or another they know that no matter what when it comes to they can rely on eachother. Lyle doesn't see him as much as he'd like but they still stay in contact and speak frequently.

6. How was your childhood? Who were your parents? What were they like? Did you attend school? If so, did you fit in? If not, why not?

Lyle had a nice enough, quiet childhood. Jackson and his mother, Marie, were always caring if not the wealthiest and through thick and thin always stuck together.

Though her death struck the family hard Lyle and Jackson stuck together like glue and did their best. Lyle was never the most out-going at school but he wasn't without friends, making an attempt to speak to others where possible and learn as much as he could when he was there.

It wasn't always possible to attend with his families money struggles, frequently needing to take time out to help get some extra money together so they could eat the next week but that wasn't uncommon, a lot of kids in these parts had similar struggles. Despite his awkwardness and less-than charismatic nature he fit in well with the bustling nature of his schoolmates, they could relate to his struggles and having someone who could understand was an escape better than no other.

7. Have you ever been in love? With who? What happened? If not, why not?

Lyle had no lack of fleeting romances and crushes through his youth but as for love? Love was something more, something bigger than he could understand or grasp.

It was a want he held high in his heart but with the bustle of life and work he simply found himself without enough time to fall into the whims of love. Perhaps one day, when he was powerful enough, rich enough to have that free time and finally settle down with someone.

But until then? Until then Lyle would simply have to give it his all to get there, for better or for worse.
