Camilla Walker's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

I live in a small room above the photography store I work at and kind of own in Albuquerque. The place was my dad's passion project, its never made much in the way of money, in fact it barely covers its own expenses. When he passed the place went into my mom's name, but she closed it and left it vacant, I think it brought back too many painful memories for her. When I dropped out of Uni and moved back mom brought up the idea of having me reopen the place and here I am. The shop is a small building which is very out of the way, our only customers are a few hobbyists and the occasional film or photography major over at New Mexico State. The interior of the place is dimly lit and cramped, the front is made up of a handful of wooden shelves carrying various camera equipment and film and the counter which leaves little room to walk around. In the back we got a darkroom, which I think is the only one in the city that isn't some hobbyist's, and the store room for all the backup stock and some of the more niche items. Upstairs is where I live, it used to be an office for paperwork but I've turned it into a my living space. I only have enough room for a twin size bed and a desk but its enough, I have a few potted plants around and its got a decent view of the streets below so I don't mind it.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

I get money from my dad's, well I guess it's mine now, photography shop. I have a handful of regular customers who pay to use our darkroom and source their film through us as well as the occasional special order for some more niece camera equipment (my dad had a lot of contacts for weird camera stuff and luckily he kept their contact info in a big book upstairs) as well as repairs but beyond that we don't get much traffic. I'd probably make more getting a job flipping burgers or something but I like the free time, plus I get to work with cameras all day which is a dream come true! Most my money ends up going towards expenses for the shop and food and whatever's left over goes towards student loans. If you're thinking of going to college don't get student loans they're the biggest scam known to man!
