Mythkong's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Link Answered before Mythkong's first Contract.

Mythkong, real name Mikal Thorne, is a 32 year old Ecologist. At the young age of 19, Mikal's younger brother Chetming died in a tragic drowning incident during their first ever expedition together. The trauma of this event drove him to near insanity and thus he abandoned civilization, even abandoning those he considered close. He retrated into the deep wilds of the Congo Rainforest, building a treehouse overlooking the very river that took the life of his brother. Fueled by the guilt of bringing his brother to his grave, he vowed to never be powerless and lose anyone close to him again. To do this, he pledged to conquer nature by becoming apart of nature itself. Over the many years, he spent countless hours using his knowledge as an ecologist to experiment on himself. He studied the DNA of primates within the congo, mutagens from a variety of rare plants, and performed forgotten rituals written in old ancient tales.

At the age of 29, Mythkong was born. A breakthrough in his studies dervied a serum from a unqiue breed of gorilla. By infusing this serum into bananas he had scavanaged from the trees, he was able to become something more than just human. He was the truest form of primate, a silverback gorilla. Using this newfound power, he knew he had one goal. To become the king of the jungle, and protect those that resided within it.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

Link Answered after Contract 2, The Serbian Gamble

Currently I get my money from providing the extensive research I have done on the wilderness of the native congo wildlife. Despite not being paid a ton of money for what I consider to be valuable research, it is enough to live off on. I use the funds I can gather to help fund my research to try and find the next big breakthrough in hopes to become even more powerful to protect those I hold close. If nature wants to take a life from me, I am going to dedicate every second of my life to make sure nature suffers under my paw.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Link Answered after Contract 2, The Serbian Gamble

My ambition is born of pure hatred. Once, I adored nature, devoting my life to exploring its beauty and harmony. But the day it revealed its merciless cruelty was the day I realized I’d been deceived. Nature is a sadistic force, unpredictable, unforgiving, and indifferent. Now, I seek vengeance for what it stole from me, no matter the cost. If my life is the price, so be it. If others stand in my way, they too will fall. No human can halt nature’s wrath, only nature itself holds that power. But I will make it suffer as it has made me suffer. I will force it to recoil, to feel the pain it so freely inflicts. This is my purpose, and nothing will deter me.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Link Answered after Contract 2, The Serbian Gamble

The most defining event of my life was the day that I lost the one that meant the most to me. Chetming, my younger brother. I have constant nightmares every night about the day I lost him, wishing I could of been strong enough to pull him out of that vicious river stream. Losing him completely changed my view on my life, and nature itself. Nature is cruel, cold and has no regard for life despite being the building block of it. Someone you love to death could be taken away from you in an instant if they dare to challenge the forces of this world.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

Link Answered after Contract 2, The Serbian Gamble

Chetming, is the first person I would say is.. or well was the closest person in my life. They were my younger brother, and I would do absolutely anything to bring them back. They always had a bright smile, had a silly bowlcut that I told him constantly was a bad idea but he never listened, and always wore what I wore. Despite looking ridiculous, they were anything but that. They were my main light in life, and without him I feel like this world's light has darkened.

Verso Tock, despite not knowing him well, he has saved my life on more than one occasion. I consider him a good friend and someone I can reliabely put my trust into. They are quite short, however they make up for it with their abilities. I am almost jealous of the aura that their outfit showcases, however nothing can outmatch the pristine whiteness of my suit.

Aria Vulvokov, yet again a person that I am not quite familiar with. However, despite this, they have shown deep care for me by helping me out of situations I alone would not of been able to escape from. Due to this, I feel comfortable putting my life in their hands and placing my trust yet again in them.

6. How was your childhood? Who were your parents? What were they like? Did you attend school? If so, did you fit in? If not, why not?

Before his exile into the wild, Mythkong, then known as Mikal Thorne, spent his early years in the UK, where his parents, Elias and Lillian Thorne, were esteemed researchers at Cambridge. Though their work often took them abroad, their home in the English countryside was a place of quiet study, filled with botanical specimens and field journals. Mikal, ever the outsider, preferred the woods to classrooms, earning him a reputation as the "monkey man" among his peers.

When Chetming died in the Congo, Mikal returned to Britain a hollow man. His parents, drowning in their own grief, tried to anchor him with therapy and routine, but he was already slipping away. The night before he vanished for good, he raided his father’s expedition supplies, stealing five British Army MREs, a survival knife, and a waterproof map case. The rations were a practical choice (he knew their 10-year shelf life would outlast his sanity), but the act itself was symbolic: severing his last tether to civilization.

He left no note. Just an empty locker and a single muddy footprint on the windowsill. The MREs lasted him months in the Congo’s depths, eaten cold under downpours, their bland flavors a bitter taste of the world he’d rejected. By the time the last one was gone, so was Mikal. Only Mythkong remained.

7. Have you ever been in love? With who? What happened? If not, why not?

Link Answered after Contract 2, The Serbian Gamble

Mythkong doesn’t do love anymore. There was a scientist, Eleanor, who got close before everything went wrong. They worked together, laughed together, maybe it could’ve been something. But when his brother died, he shut her out. Ignored her letters. Walked away.

Now? Love is just weakness. The jungle doesn’t care about feelings. It only understands strength. He’s got his gorillas, his vines, his rage. That’s enough.
Trying to love anyone else would do nothing but make him feel weak to nature's grasp, and that is something that is outright unacceptable. Losing another that he held close would drive him to pure insanity.

8. What are your worst fears? Why?

Link Answered after Contract 2, The Serbian Gamble

Mythkong’s deepest fear is being powerless again, that split second when the river ripped Chetming from his grasp and he couldn’t do anything but scream. That helplessness is what drives him, what twists his experiments into something monstrous. He can’t stand the thought of failing the jungle because it’s all he has left. If the vines don’t obey, if the gorillas turn on him, he’s just a broken man in a treehouse, screaming at ghosts. Worse than death is irrelevance, being reduced back to Mikal Thorne, the failed brother, the runaway, the scientist who cracked under grief. He fears losing control most of all, because control is the only thing standing between him and the memory of Chet’s wide-eyed terror in the water. That’s why he pushes further, why he stitches himself into the Congo’s skin, why he carves his name into the trees like a warning. The jungle must remember him. The world must fear him. Because if it doesn’t, if he’s just another whisper in the leaves, then Chet died for nothing, and that’s a guilt that would drown him faster than any river. So he rules, not because he wants to, but because the alternative is a silence worse than death.

9. What is (are) your most prized possession(s)? What makes it (them) so special?

Link Answered after Contract 2, The Serbian Gamble

Mythkong’s most prized possession is the ring that channels his power, forged from the serum of the silverback that granted him dominion over the jungle. It’s his weapon, his crown, the last relic of his human experiments. But the truly irreplaceable item? Chetming’s waterlogged field journal, salvaged from the riverbank after the drowning. Its pages are blurred, ink smeared into ghosts of notes, but his brother’s handwriting still lingers. Sketches of frogs, rushed observations, a half-finished joke in the margins.

The ring makes him a king. The journal reminds him why he became one.

He keeps both close. One on his finger, the other wrapped in monkey hide, tucked against his chest. Lose the ring, and he loses the jungle. Lose the journal, and he loses Chet twice. The day that Mythkong loses his ring is he day he has truly lost everything. No matter the cost, even if the cost is taking the life of others, he must keep moving.

10. What is the biggest problem in your life right now?

Link Answered after Contract 3, Smell no Evil

Currently, the biggest problem in my life is LOSING MY FUCKING WHITE GORILLA SUIT. How the FUCK am I meant to look my best if I can't even put on my finest outfits??? God forbid I see that TikTok CEO walking around because if I do, I'm going to unleash the jungle right ontop of his head for the sin of disallowing me to wear what I wish due to TikTok kids recording me killing like..... a few people? Like come on dude, they were pretty evil people anyways. For crying out loud they shot me for pulling out a BANANA and were about to shoot me AGAIN. If I did not have Aria there to defend me, my head would of been a red mist ALL just because I wanted to have a nice snack. Really shows you how mentally stable the modern man is. Oh well, at least they didn't mess up my suit that badly.

11. Describe a typical morning. How do you get ready to face the world?

Link Answered after Contract 3, Smell no Evil

Most of my mornings are pretty uneventful. Despite living in such a tropical place, there isn't a whole lot to do. However, despite being uneventful, I still find joy in being able to do what I do. Just being able to slowly build progress dissecting the building blocks of nature to then turn into my own power is a feeling you just can't describe. Another thing that keeps me going in the morning is imagining what Chetming would think if I just sat by and did nothing all day. Though sometimes I feel as if Chetming would completely understand me having a rest day here and there, after all he was essentially just another me (if not more mischevous). However, regardless if I think I deserve a rest or not, I must keep pushing myself to limits not ever thought possible by humans. I must become something more. Something that can turn the tides of nature into my favour.

12. If you were going somewhere special that you wanted to look your best for, what would you do to prepare? What would you wear? How long would it take you to get ready?

Link Answered after Contract 4, Mushroom Hunt

If I were going somewhere special and wanted to look my best, I’d start preparing the day before with some basic grooming, maybe a fresh haircut, skincare, and planning my outfit based on the event’s vibe. On the day of, I'd give myself about an hour to get ready. I’d take a thorough shower, follow up with skincare, and make sure everything is clean and well-fitted. For a formal event, I would wear a tailored dark suit, a crisp white shirt, polished dress shoes, and subtle accessories like a nice watch or pocket square. For something more casual but still elevated, I’d go with dark jeans or tailored pants, a fitted shirt or sweater, and a sleek jacket. I would finish with clean shoes and maybe a spritz of cologne. The goal would be to feel confident, comfortable, and polished, ready to make a good impression and enjoy the moment.

13. What will you do for your next birthday?

Link Answered after Contract 4, Mushroom Hunt

Honestly, I am not sure at all. As the years tick by, I find myself more and more less inclined to even bother celebrating my birthday. I find it especially tough celebrating my brithday without having him here by my side. However, one thing I always find myself doing is celebrating my brother's birthday, always making sure to put gifts on his grave and telling him the funny adventures I've went on, and wishing that he was here to be able to take these adventures with me. If there is a day I am able to find a way to bring you back, Chetming, you can be damn sure I will do anything to do it.
