Liam King's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

I live in St. George, Utah. My family used to live in California, when I was younger I remember constantly needing to apply aloe because of intense sunburns. So when I got older and got my skills in gambling, I decided that a move was in order. St. George, Utah is a nice city, it’s got everything I’ll ever need. That includes it being pretty close to Las Vegas, which helps keep the travel cost low during my “business” trips. I’ll often stay nearby in North Las Vegas, sometimes a hot streak burns brightly enough that I can’t leave the strip just yet. There’s a small clothing store nearby where I live, I typically have to head over there to get my suit stitched back up.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

I get my money from various odds and ends. A lot of the time it's small little things. It's things like helping an old lady with groceries or helping a family move out. Sometimes I'm able to make a deal and work over a period of time. A lot of the money I make is then compounded by frequent gambling trips. I take a lot of care to make sure I make more money when I go gambling than I lose. Obviously that isn't too difficult, I'm an expert at gambling and I know how to play my cards right, literally.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

My drive is to remove all real agency from people in the world. My hope, is to make a world where people are no longer dragged down by their actions, where everything was just a roll of the dice, and they happened to be unlucky that day. If I’m being honest, I’d go all the way up to death for it. I’m no maniac, I’m not willing to die for some pipe dream, but I’m willing to take every step as long as I can still enjoy a good game of blackjack afterwards. I’m willing to kill for it. I saw plenty of violence when I was younger, I’ve seen people die unexpectedly in the streets from an accident. I know the grit of reality, and I know that death is always a single bad card away. All I hope is that other people know that they’re only ever one bad roll from dying.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

The most defining event in my life is easily when my wife left me. We were happily married for 4 years before then. One day, I got fed up with us not having what we wanted, with us not being able to do what we wanted. So I decided to gamble all of our money. Well, I lost, and she couldn’t see my side of this. So she took the kids out of my life and left me here to deal to no one. I still see the kids occasionally, but I’d rather not ever see her again. Goddamn witch.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

I haven’t many close people to me. I’ve spent plenty of my life on my own and I’ve been entirely fine with it. Originally, those three were my wife and two kids. But I despise my wife now, that harpy queen took my two kids from me. My two kids, despite rarely seeing them, are still two of the closest people to me. I love them with all my heart. It was Levi and Jessica. Levi was my younger son, with Jessica being my older daughter. My current closest though, is my new and eldest daughter, Mimi. She comes from my contracts, she’s an amazingly smart kid, graduated high school at age 16. She loves to read, to research and write, basically everything so hated while in school. Her presence reminds me that I still love to learn, and I can still love the world outside of gambling. Most of all, she reminds me how much I love to be a father. All of that comes back to her, and how much I love my new daughter.
