The middle of nowhere, Tennessee. Truth be told, I'm not that remote, but the closest store is about a 40-minute drive. It's a nice place up in the mountains. I'm fully off-grid, fully self-sufficient for power and water. I also have a decent-sized garden and a good-sized chicken coop. So a lot of my food is also made here. I will admit it gets lonely at times, but I have two dogs and three horses to keep me company. Along with the casual visitor. I also go into town and visit with friends there. As to why here land was cheap and you can't beat the views, I have acres and acres of woods and mountains, and up until the incident, nobody uncivil bothered me.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

One of the advantages of being Blind is that the government sends me a nice check now and then. I also play gigs. I won't say I'm making it big, but the extra money helps. Not that I spend much. My bills are low, so my meager income goes far. I make and use my power, food, and water, so I don't have costs there past maintenance and projects. My largest cost would be if one of my horses gets sick, the vet bills for those things are insane. Oh, I almost forgot I also sell my extra eggs and some fresh and canned vegetables at a farmers market once a month. The amout of fuss some people make about buying fresh food from a blind cowboy is hilarious, my marketing does itself.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

I want to make a place where all kinds of people, and I mean all. Can work together to make a caring community. I had a daughter. A wonderful little thing. The problem was she was openly supernatural, not something I notice due well I'm blind. That shouldn't be any kind of problem, though. What matters is an individual's traits of character, not physical. Well, the Sons think differently. They formed a mob and killed my little girl. I was so damm powerless. After that, well, something in me changed. I have learned to shoot a gun well. I have been able to hear well before, but after that, I could see with my ears, I'm not quite sure how, but it lets me aim a gun, so that works for me.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

As I said before, the killing of my little girl. I got sharper from that; I had to in order to not go insane. After sorting myself out, I started investigating the bastards who did it. The sons of Salem they call themselves. Just a bunch of racist killers. I'm working on a list of who was there the night they attacked us. I managed to hear about another lynching they were planning; they were hunting a poor couple. They never did anything wrong. So I was waiting for them when they arrived. Well, I wasn't myself. Two of the group will never walk without a limp again, and well, the last took a tumble off a cliff after taking a bullet to the hip. May the spirits of that valley feast upon his body and soul. I know they are after me, it is only a matter of time, but I will be ready.

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

I have quite a few friends. I will tell you of two here.

Jim Steelman is a fellow small-time farmer in the area. He has hogs, chickens, goats, and a few cattle. The two of us set up next to each other at the farmer's I mentioned in one of the previous ones. he picks me and my goods up and drives me. Afterward, he always makes sure to take me around to buy any goods I need. And sometimes we get a beer or two out in town or at one of our homes. He is all one could ask for in a friend.

I also have a charm of neighbor, though she is a little over two miles away. She is one of those college graduates artests with daddy's money, paying for it (though she is good people despite it) she comes over for eggs or asks me to come out and help fix things for her when she needs it. though I sware she is brakeing things on purpose for the company. She pays me back by reading to me. Its nice.

6. How was your childhood? Who were your parents? What were they like? Did you attend school? If so, did you fit in? If not, why not?

Good, simple folk. They live south of here. I grew up in a small house with them and my two siblings. I attended public school, but it wasn't for me. I never had the best grades, but hey, I passed. As for did I fit in well, I'm blind, some kids were nice enough and didn't treat me badly. Though there were a few who set out to make my life a living hell. I don't talk to any friends from school. I was a bit of an idiot and don't love looking back at that time. I feel I have grown a lot as a man after that I graduated and worked just about any job that would have me. Some treated me like I was normal, others like I was useless,s the second most likely only hired me because it looked good for them. I got enough money and I got the land I have now.

7. Have you ever been in love? With who? What happened? If not, why not?

Who hasn't been in love before? I have fallen head over heels for plenty of women before. I haven't gone on a date in a while, but when I was a little younger, I went on plenty. None lasted at all. Most people say they have no problem being with someone who is blind, but once they live with you or spend enough time, it ends the same way a lot of the time. "I'm just not ready to give that level of commitment". or "you deserve someone so much better then me". I'm sure I will find someone and despite my mother's urging, I'm not rushing.
