The town that Spectre lives in is a pretty quiet and quaint little town that's pretty slow going that gives off the sleepy suburb feel, nothing too crazy ever really happens there and people seem to go about their day with a regular routine in mind close to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. But not too close, if you catch my drift. He had decided to move their after something happened to him in the past as a little reminder to himself. The house that he lives in is a pretty run of the mill Cape Cod style house that seems well taken care of but if you look closely, it is relatively rare to hear much from the friendly looking abode and the shades are almost always pulled down.
The way Spectre obtains money for his day to day living is by working at the local food mart serving the community of his small town. However, due to the housing crisis that is currently occurring in the nearby Cedar Falls, many of the more affluent Iowans have decided move into his town and that has driven prices even higher and as the house was not even close to being paid off yet, Spectre has also taken up some odd jobs here and there to supplement his income. Aside from the mortgage payments, his continuous training has also taken a large chunk of his monthly expenses as well.
What would Spectre's ambition be...it is not something that grandiose or particularly special compared to some of the other Contractors, Spectre simply wants freedom from the those who have leverage over him. Never does Spectre ever want to be controlled by another being and will do quite literally anything in order to achieve this goal. Hence why he has become a Contractor. Sure some would have looked at his life now and ask, why are you not content with what you have, but they would not understand. They just don't get what it was like, the hurt, the pain, the suffering. Spectre would kill without hesitation if it meant that he would be one step closer to obtaining what he truly desired. Even if death was grasping at his neck, he would not give it a second thought, as nearly nothing else would be able to get in between him and ultimate freedom.
The most defining moment of my life was when I found out that everything that I had been living was a lie. I had been faithfully serving as a "handyman" of sorts for those with much more power than I could ever dream of, yet he was content with the life he had. A job while hazardous to his health and wellbeing, was able to provide for his loving wife and child. At least, that was what Spectre thought, until on one assignment, after capturing a scientist who was branded a traitor to the government, he found out that his wife had been a honeypot to ensure Spectre remained under them, something he had in the back of his mind for a while but never wanted to truly believe in. He confronted his wife about who broke down and confessed the truth of the matter, however, she the time she had been with Spectre had changed her outlook on life and was afraid of telling him. Spectre devised a plan to try and escape but unfortunately, the plan went awry as a cleanup crew was sent in after they learned of the compromise. In the end, Spectre's wife lost her life while trying to protect their daughter and Spectre was presumed dead in the aftermath.
First we have Spectre's wife, her name is— was Eve. While later found out to have initially been lying to Spectre about her love, the feelings that welled up inside her could no longer be simply thought of as an act to Spectre. At first afraid of of these new found feelings, she hesitated on whether or not she could let Spectre know at the risk of destroying the relationship they had built up to that point. In the end, she sacrificed herself in order to save their daughter in their attempt to escape the influence of the government.
Then we have Spectre's daughter, her name is Amethyst. A sweet, kind, and innocent girl that doesn't know much about the truth of her family. Lost most of her memories of Spectre after the traumatic experiences from her family's attempt to escape. Currently, residing in an orphanage far from Spectre.
Finally we have Spectre's father like figure, Spectre always just called him Bob. Similar to Spectre, Bob never really shared his name with anyone and anytime he did answer someone, it would be without a shadow of a doubt some sort of alias or bull shit answer so they'd stop asking repeatedly. He was a hard-nosed and old-fashioned veteran from back in 'Nam that always told stories about how the trees spoke Vietnamese. Basically taught everything he knew to Spectre.
My childhood was not that of normal children, I never really remembered what my parents were like as they had left me when I was still young. Instead I was left at some corrupt orphanage that "lent" their children to certain organizations in order to receive some sort of kick back from them. I was taken by one of the multitude of three letter agencies and trained by them. A child soldier? Probably, but I did what I had to survive the hellish conditions from that damned training camp. They beat us, starved us, tried to take our humanity away from us until we would only follow orders and complete the missions that we were tasked with. I was there for so many years that the time during it all bled together, I can't even begin to count the number of comrades I had lost on missions or the number of people I have had to dispatch in order to come back alive. Overall, while it might have prepared me for the Contracts ahead of me, I would never wish it on anyone else.
Of course I have been in love. The person I loved was Eve the person who had betrayed me but still loved me for me along with all my flaws. He confronted his wife about the betrayal who broke down and confessed the truth of the matter, however, the time she had been with Spectre had changed her outlook on life but was afraid of telling him. Spectre devised a plan to try and escape but unfortunately, the plan went awry as a cleanup crew was sent in after they learned of the compromise. In the end, Spectre's wife lost her life while trying to protect their daughter and Spectre was presumed dead in the aftermath.
