Frederick Karl von Dietzen's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Frederick resides in his family estate in Tingen City. It is a house that has been in the family for generations and for lesser nobles that live outside of Backlund it still matches to their rank. Frederick moves back to Tingen and left the military when he received news that his wife had passed away. He did not want to leave his daughter alone at home so he returned to the city he had grown up in to take care of his own child. The house has 3 floors excluding the basement. A modest garden seperated the house from the street and behind the house there is a bigger area for the von Dietzen family to either enjoy themselves or entertain guests outside. The first floor consists of the hall, kitchen and several living chambers suited to host all types of guests. From modest coffee tables to grand bookshelves. The estate is being maintained by family servants and is always in a pristine state.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

Frederick has inherited most of his fortune from his family. The von Dietzen family is a long standing noble family that never managed or grew the ambition to move to Backlund. The family was content to stay in Tingen and build up a generational fund that will last as long as one does not recklessly spend it. While Frederick does not need to work a job, he still choose to accept a position within the Nighthawks. Out of a sense of duty mostly, yet he does still receive a proffesional payment. Most of the money gets spend on either the household staff or gifts for his daughter, as he does not need to save the tiny amount of cash the nighthawks compensate him with.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Frederick's ambition to grow as a beyonder for himself and the people around him. The war has left it's scars on him and he feels too small in a world as dangerous as this. To overcome his trauma and restore his sense of saftey he walks the path of beyonders. Besides these selfish goals he also wishes to keep Tingen safe because his daughter lives there. To keep her safe, he would kill or be killed. She deserves to grow up in a safe and beautiful environment, and Frederick values himself of less importance compared her well being. If given the chance to keep her safe at the cost of his own life he would not hesitate.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

The most important event of Frederick's life was serving at the colonial front of the Loen Kingdom. Being a military officer was not too bad, but the events he witnessed scared his mind. He saw massacres and atrocities. The aftermath of supernatural forces that the rational mind could not explain. He has permanent nightmares, and his lack of sleep causes him to be forgetful. He often lies and dissociates from the world to keep its reality at bay. While dependable he finds it hard to maintain or even build up genuine connections with people. At the front he saw too many people die. Thus he tries to keep personal information to himself and strays from inviting danger to his home.
