Kahn was born in the United States to a single Asian mother, his father was almost never present. Kahn grew up as the projection of his mother's insecurities and grievances, he was meticulously propped up from the moment he learned to speak to be prim and proper; no doubt a projection of his father on the part of his mother. Kahn was never told much about his father, other than the fact that he was a businessman, he was only told that he'd "See him when he's ready". Kahn faced constant mental, and sometimes psychical, abuse at the hands of his mother; to detail, he was always kept in check in terms of weight, attitude, behavior, and if he didn't comply he'd face beatings. Kahn was conditioned as a child to accept this managerial relationship as truth, accepting the carrot-on-the-stick dynamic as simply how life was, to him it was comply or be beaten and instead of rebelling against it he simply accepted it.
Later in his childhood as he entered school Kahn became to demonstrate the traits of his manipulative-mother at the very private schools he'd been enrolled into, quickly rising to the top of the social hierarchies and demonstrating... questionable behavior towards the other children. Kahn was a social enigma, that is to say he always knew what to say, when to say it, he always had the right tool, he was always useful, and he was always desirable, yet he was woefully unavailable. Kahn was an emotional shell of a boy, he was jaded, nothing seemed to phase him or affect him emotionally and even when it seemed to it was likely he was faking it. Kahn, even as a child, was managing other people right from the get-go. His teachers took notice of this behavior and reported it to his mother yet... She didn't seem to mind.
As Kahn grew into a young adult and onwards he continued this behavior, remaining jaded and unavailable yet incredibly confident and outwardly attractive, he was smart, he was at the top of the class, what he lacked he made up for or received from elsewhere. He knew exactly how to get what he wanted, where to get what he wanted, and who to get what he wanted from, he was a navigator of social circles like no other. Kahn would eventually graduate highschool with flying colors, valedictorian, top of his class, he didn't need his father or his mother, he was tired of the cameras and the constant show-boatery of which he'd have to put up with his whole life. Kahn wanted to pursue business, he wanted to find something to take him away from his home and away from the boring people which he'd been surrounded with his whole life, to him they were useless the moment school had ended for anything that wasn't further educative-related.
Kahn however apon arriving home was met by a familiar looking man... It was his father. His mother was nowhere to-be-seen, and before Kahn knew it he was in the backseat of an expensive car barreling towards an airport, his father explaining to him that he'd been buzy with work and that he'd been in a legal battle with his mother for years and that now was the time he'd finally obtained custody to come get him. Kahn from that point onwards began to work with his father at BAE Systems Inc, a defense contractor in the United States. Kahn was put into Human Resources, a task at which he excelled as managing people was practically his life's calling.
Kahn enjoyed recreational shooting in his spare time, using the very small arms they sold at the company and often finding time to practice with... larger merchandise. Kahn was already quite wealthy, yet his position in the company under his father allocated him even more money and more resources to pursue things such as recreational shooting, business ventures, and other side-hussles. Kahn took an interest online, early-on investigating into the occult and learning of extra-ordinary occurrences through online videos.
Eventaully Kahn's father grew ill and died, Kahn inherited his wealth, his position, and his responsibilities. Kahn however grew bored in the company, though he wasn't the head he was a rather important part; very high up in the Human Resources department he had many managerial responsibilities that took up most of his time. Kahn however realized that the company was stagnating, with all the new developments in the world they needed to develop too.
Kahn also began to develop a political practice which he began to call "Subverted Freedom", a tactic which in practice was essentially subverting an individual into thinking they have freedom when actaully your just leading them along a path you've made for them. Kahn drew inspiration for this tactic from his own life and began to use it on his coworkers to startling success, and eventalully he began to believe that maybe if he used this on everyone they'd be much happier. After all, too much freedom is a bad thing right? If everyone had a purpose laid out for them and already chosen for them, a hole to fill, wouldn't they be much happier? As robotic as it sounds, Kahn truly believed this to be the case.
Kahn soon went on vacation leave from his company, deciding he would pursue this ideology and pursue the supernatural going-ons and power-related-occurances of the new Illuminating Earth.
