Robin spent her entire career working toward becomeing a top notch hostage negotiator. She achieved that and had a spotless record until, well, she didn't. Some guy's former fiance caught him cheating and left him, so he decided to walk into her workplace, a daycare, with a gun. Robin, with her stellar record, got the case, talking her way into the man's good graces, even as he held a woman and a class of 3-year-old at gun point. She thought she'd flipped him, but at the last second he changed his mind, attempting to shoot his fiance. Robin tackled him, and the gun went off, killing a child. Sure, it wasn't Robin's fault, but the guilt's been hard to live with. Rather than accepting her resignation, her sergeant has directed her to take some time off instead.
