Henry was born to a pair of parents in the Officer's Cadre, and took to his place in life like a fish in water. Attending the Empress' Academy, Henry excelled in his duties to the Empress and the Stellar Navy, doing what was asked of him without question or complaint. The Empire's rules were ingrained to him, along with a certain sense of honour. Insults could easily be met with a duel and a blade.
He had been sitting in his seat on his bridge, surrounded by his loyal men and women. And then something happened. The world sheared for a moment. Before he could call for an alert condition... He was sitting in a circle with some girl who looked like she'd never seen a goth trope she didn't like. She held a book in her hand and looked genuinely shocked. And then tried to command him! The gall!
After standing, and grabbing her - She seemed so confused he could walk though her lines on the floor - She was pleased to explain the circumstances to him. She had conducted dark magic to abduct him from his home. She said he was from a book - preposterous! - but the fact he had been taken to a world that hadn't been civilized by the Stellar Navy yet was obvious. The pollution in the air was cloying. But it also meant that his identity papers are worthless, as are his secure digital credits.
He should have put the girl to the blade for her witchcraft against an Officer of the Stellar Navy, but she was a child. Extracting promises that he believed that she would not reveal his existence to anyone, he let her go. At least he had the abandoned structure she'd been using as a hideout for her dark magicks.
On top of that, none of his technology was working. He can fix it, though. He has to.
