    Circumstances describe your situation.

    Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.

    Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    Your finances are in-order, and you can afford to spare some for your Contracting. You have access to $35,000 (or equivalent currency) per Contract.

    From Assets and Liabilities
    You have a stockpile of a specific type of weaponry or hard-to-find items. During a Downtime, you may obtain up to three items from your stockpile.

    Conditions

    Conditions describe your state of being.

    Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.

    Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.

    Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    From Assets and Liabilities
    Anosmia You have no sense of smell, and your sense of taste is extremely limited. All Perception rolls which depend on smell fail automatically, and any Perception rolls which involve smell in some way (such as tasting things) are at +2 Difficulty.
    Paranoia You have a natural distrust of everyone around you, and are always on edge looking for threats. You must roll Self Control in order to let another person remain in a position where they could easily hurt you, or to allow someone else to perform a task which is necessary to keep yourself safe. If you fail, you may Exert your Mind to overcome your fear.
    Sleepless You do not require sleep. You do not require sleep, and any resistance rolls against supernatural attempts to put you to sleep are rolled at +2 dice.
    Bounce Back You heal incredibly quickly. Whenever one of your severe Injuries is Properly Stabilized, reduce its Severity by 1. Your stabilized Injuries heal 4 Severity levels per month instead of the standard 2.
    Nightmares: my work fails or it is destroyed. Your sleep is plagued with horrible nightmares. At the start of each Contract and each time you fall asleep, make a Self-Control roll. If you fail, you take one Mind damage.
    The Hunger: Stem cells You have an insatiable urge to consume something unusual. You no longer recover Mind through restful sleep. Instead, you may recover 1 point of Mind per day by consuming the subject of your hunger. Any day you fail to do so, you take a point of Mind Damage.

    Biography

    Ivan was an ambitious and intelligent young man who rapidly advanced in the field of genetics. By the age of 12, he had already finished high school and begun his genetic studies. By the age of 16, he had completed college and started his private research into genetics. This would later become the foundation of what he would eventually achieve. Then, at 18, he began working as a genetic scientist, making numerous discoveries that made him a well-known figure in the industry. This also brought him great financial success.

    He had a vision of what genetics could accomplish; humanity didn't have to remain animals that relied on their minds alone. They could become perfect beings by modifying their genetics and reaching the pinnacle of evolution. However, many other scientists didn't share his perspective, deeming his beliefs unethical. Despite this, due to his prestige in the field, he continued without problems. He pressed on with his research and, with his limited private access to genetic technology, he began modifying the human body on himself. There were side effects, but to him, they were simple mistakes that needed fixing.

    He will continue his modifications until he transforms himself into the pinnacle of evolution. His goal is for others to see what they could become and that he was right. Now, at the age of 22, despite being seen as a genius in the field of genetics, he is rarely taken seriously. His most significant public achievement thus far is assisting in the treatment of some genetic diseases.
