Formerly known as Eugene Fletcher, Jean was born in Birmingham in 1985 to a poor family subsiding off of welfare. Growing up in poverty in a declining city was a rough start for the young brit. As a desperate attempt to escape the dire situation, Eugene decided to forgo the local recruitment offices and applied to join the French Foreign Legion. A year later, after getting into proper shape, he would be accepted into the military organization where he would go on to serve for the next 15 years. Two years after entering service, he would cut all ties to his family in the UK, and officially change his name to Jean Crevier. Six more years after, his citizenship would be renounced, as he would acquire a new one in France.
At the age of 33 Jean would pause his military career, wanting a break after being deployed extensively in Chad and Mali. While stationed there, he would stumble across a prototype suit of ceramic armour, left among the ruins of a village long abandoned on the outskirts of the Sahara desert. Seeing value in his find, he'd stash it in the sand, returning post-service to reclaim it for himself.
With a hefty sum of money earned from years of service, and a newly found piece of unkown equipment, Jean got to experimenting. He purchased an old home on the outskirts of Toulouse, renovating it and turning it into his own armory, filled with various guns, explosives, powders, sharpnels and chunks of resistant materials. And when money was seemingly getting short, he would put what skills he learned to use. With a sponsored program by the Legion he would graduate in a police academy and become a private investigator with a knack to see the supernatural where others would miss it.
Of course, his service to the military wasn't over, still. He still had 5 years waiting for him, in order to be eligible for a pension. That, and his loyalty to the government showed Jean to be a reliable asset in a time when tensions ran high in the world. He would often be outsourced to police departments in areas where crime would escalate, to help speed the process through. If there was a man that needed to be found, he'd find them. And if there was a supernatural demi-human that needed to be shot - he'd shoot them, no questions asked. The others had no issue turning a blind eye every now and again.
