Amdusias "Am" is a powerless devil who will risk their life to become the ultimate violinist and reclaim their place as a duke of hell.

They are 3000 years old, live in a 2 room flat in Atlanta, Georgia, and often appears as a well-kempt androgynous person wearing concert black with above average looks.

Movement

All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a field surgery kit for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Biography

For hundreds of years Amdusias was a duke of hell, commanding legions of demons. But one fateful day, venturing to the east coast of North America in the human world, they made a bet they'd soon regret. Losing in a battle of music was the first step of a staircase spiraling downwards to rock bottom. In the end all powers but their most innate one were lost, trading even their demon form in for that of a human, ending up a violinist at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, feeling bitter irony as they recognised it as the place their descent started centuries ago.
