Circumstances describe your situation.
Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.
Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Conditions describe your state of being.
Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.
Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.
Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.
Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.
All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.
You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Normand was born in an extraterrestrial hivemind located two kilometers below the surface of Roswell, New Mexico (it was there way before any of the ufo stuff happened, just a coincidence). The hive functioned very similarly to an ant colony, and Norm lived in harmony there for untold decades (centuries??). They were very happy!!! Of course, they didn't really exist or think or feel as an individual, but the collective was happy, and the queen was fed. Until one day something very odd happened. Normand had a thought. They thought that maybe the archway of tendons that led to the queen's chamber was kind of tacky, and they should change it. Of course, they assumed that everyone else had thought that too at that very moment, but shockingly, they hadn't. Without warning, Normand had been disconnected from the hivemind. Just as quickly, they were forced out of the hive itself. They begged their family to tell them why they were doing this and to take them back, but they found it awfully hard to communicate to someone without knowing all their deepest thoughts and feelings. That was quickly reinforced when Norman tried to enter human society. They knew how to look human and talk human, all of their family did, but conversation was so much harder and messier than simply thinking together. It was customary in human communities to get a job and house, so they found a job at the McDonald's human eating facility. It is shaped oddly, their coworkers say it is the shape of a "flying saucer". This is confusing to Norman, as they do not believe that it could fly. They enjoy human people, even if they do not understand most of the things they say. They miss the hive, but their family was cruel to them, so they do not wish to return. They wish they could be a human person and that all the human people could form a hive. That way, Norman could understand them a lot better.
