Quick reference:
All Drugs risk Addiction & Dependance; if you would gain a Trauma normally while under the effects of a Drug, such as by failing a Trauma roll, you gain the Substance Addiction Trauma (Substance Addiction & Dependance are severe enough also, to be Disorders) Substance Addiction - At the start of a Contract or Move, roll Self Control. If you fail, you begin already dosed up. If you botch, you begin already OD’d. Anytime an easy opportunity presents itself to engage in your addiction, such as someone offering you the substance of your choosing, you must roll Self Control to not dose up–if you Botch, you will dose up two levels.. If you already had a particular Substance Addiction–you instead gain a Substance Dependance. Substance Dependence - During or after particularly tense or stressful situations, such as making a Trauma roll or failing a Self Control Roll, you must dose up on your Substance of choice–if you choose or are unable to, you take 1 Mind Damage. You must roll Self Control to ever be without your Substance of choosing, and any day you go without your Substance of choosing--you are unable to recover Mind.
Onset Time
No drug acts immediately. The quickest onset time available to a drug is 1 minute when administered intravenously (via IV or carefully inserting a syringe directly into a major artery or vein). Drugs administered via snorting or muscular injection (i.e. a dart) have an onset time of 5 minutes. Drugs that are ingested have an onset time of 1 hour
Dosing Up & Levels
Drugs are measured based on “Dosage Levels”--there are three Dosage Levels: Normal, Overdose, and Massive Overdose. How much of a particular substance needs to be consumed in order to reach any of these levels, depends on the target, and the substance.
