Circumstances describe your situation.
Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.
Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Conditions describe your state of being.
Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.
Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.
Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.
Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.
All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.
You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Mahkah lives in a reservation in South Dakota where they work as a Cashier and donate a portion of their money to their parents who they live with. On weekends and when available he joins his friends to protest Oil pipelines and support environmental causes. Overtime though he noticed that their efforts weren't really having much effect and so he sought more impactful activists out. He served as look out a few times but was held at bay until after a few jobs. Finally on his first big oppurtunity the group he was working with wanted to bomb a chemical factory. Mahkah was told that the factory would absorb the blast and contain the chemicals so they wouldn't escape. Turns out you shouldn't trust young people with explosives.
The explosion caused excess chemical slurry to launch from the building and damage the surrounding area. Mahkah and the others weren't identified but all of them were injured and started getting sick quickly, Mahkah included. His parents sought the old ways and the tribe offered a final gamble to Mahkah, a kind of ceremony that would fuse his spirit with part of the earth. Possibly prolonging his death in exchange for a life of servitude. Mahkah's parents made the decision for him and Mahkah was sacrificed to the earth.
Arms slit open and bleeding out on the ground in a ritual circle Mahkah was exsanguinated and dead for 5 minutes. His wounds were stuffed with earth and clay and his failing organs buffeted with leaves and vines. Mahkah had received a stay of execution but only briefly, they now feel the dying of the planet as well as their fading organs.
